Hey everybody,

I'm preparing a road trip the the North Cape for june 2019.

The idea is to take the ferry from Travemünde (Germany) to Helsinki (Finland)

Take the Santa Claus Express to Rovaniemi : http://www.eurail.com/trains-europe/night-trains/santa-claus-express

This is a night train.

In Rovaniemi we pay a visit to Santa Clause :)

Drive from Rovaniemi through Lapland to the North Cape.

From the North Cape drive through Norway to Oslo.

Take the ferry in Oslo to Kiel (germany)

Here is an exemple of the journey we could take.

Somebody want to join us on this epic journey ?

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

Well, here's your target - 11.

This would beat my recent road trip, where we went through 10 countries in 2 weeks:

1) UK
2) France
3) Switzerland
4) Italy
5) Austria
6) Germany
7) Luxembourg
8) Belgium
9) France (again)
10) UK (again)

OK, if you want to say 9) & 10) don't count, the target is 8.

Good luck and tell us all about it!

Took 2 weeks but not driving long distances every day.

Over 2000 miles covered (3300km).

See my blog at http://www.rczr.wordpress.com for more info. on the trip, including daily milage, fuel consumption, pictures, video, etc. if you're interested.

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

Those kind off trips I did a lot of them on my motorcycle.
I have done every mountain pass in Europe over 2000m at least once on my bike.

But those trips toke us mostly to South parts of Europe. My wife didn't like the North part because rain and bike is not a perfect combination. But now with the RCZ I want de discover to North part of Europe.

Now on this trip to the North Cape we will be traveling 4500 km in our RCZ, 2000km by ferry and 900km by train :)

And I hope to be the first to go over the North Circle in a RCZ :D ;)

We will also drive over the Atlantic Ocean Road

This summer (june) we went to Ireland and drove 3000km on the island :

We will also drive over the Atlantic Ocean Road

The idea to go with a small group of RCz's to the North Cape is actual again.

This is 18-days long road trip to the North Cape and back.
We need to minimum 10 RCZ's so we can go to a specialized travel agent that will organise this epic road trip to the North Cape for us :

http://oldtimertours.nl/voorbeeldreis/t ... 0cbe0-83a4

We will travel 4.475 km by car, 1985 by ship and 910 km by train !!!

De basic price for the trip is 2.995,- Euro, but this will depend of what we would like.

It's planned for june 2019. Who is interested to join us ?

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

That does sound like a fantastic trip, and if I was single, or had a wife who was slightly interested in the car, I would have loved to have come along.

As it is, I probably have a slightly better chance of getting quads than I do of coming with you on this epic trip :brickwall:

Good luck with it all though, & I do hope you get the required numbers to make this happen

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

Well I knew you were thinking of another trip Dan, but this is an adventure, sure not to miss.

I would love to come along but like DKZ this time I have to bow out, Mrs B. Does not like the cold and would really like to have a new kitchen, and since she is still liking a new kitchen, then trips will have to wait..... BUT

On our trip next week - I'm hoping to do 11 or 12 countries...

1. UK
2. France
3. Belgium
4.Germany
5. Lichtenstein
6.Switzerland
7.Austria
8.Slovenia
9.Croatia
10.Hungary
11.Slovakia
12.Czechia ( Czechoslovakia )

Then Back !!

And to really mix it up.... I would love to do RCZ road trip to GREECE from UK.

Here's hoping you get your TEN Danny - good luck cu soon too.

I forgot could also do Luxembourg that would make it 13 countries - with a picture in each to confirm !!

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

It's also quiet a trip and the three day through the alps in Austria, Italy and Switzerland. So you can add Italy to your list so with Luxemburg that would be 14 countries

Doh !! I forgot Italy.

To be honest didn't know if we were dipping our tyres in Italy.

Should of know really cos the last time I was in Switzerland I did the Gothard Tunnel which is 19km long ( think it's the third longest in the world ), anyway that goes from Switzerland into Italy, I proceeded to go round the Italian riviera, then back into France to Chamonix.

That trip was in August in this beauty ....

I loved that car..... and yes Neil if you read this - that is a different one to the last ORANGE 307cc I posted - I have had five !!! Just cant get them out of my system...

Re: Back and forth to the North Cape

Actually, the Gotthardtunnel is located pretty centrally in Switzerland and 17 km long.
The San Bernardinotunnel (in the west) ends close to the border with Italy but I recommend to avoid it because you have to pay toll and the pass is very nice to drive (if you're not help by a slower vehicle).
