The garage state the BCU failed and they picked one up within 2 days which was pretty good.
Picking it up today, so just waiting on the bill 🫣 but still don't understand why it started fine on a jump lead fine and after a battery change it failed.
Anyway it is what it is and hopefully it...
Hi Verminator thanks for the input, I passed this on but they say it's the BCU as above. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon and I'll update as to what it was...
Hi Pedro thanks for the info, the garage are saying they're waiting on a Battery control unit 🤦 why would not starting the car for 4-5 weeks cause this ? Or is it likely the switching of the battery snit jump-started perfectly before taking it to an MOT, where it refused to start after the new...
Hi thanks for the reply much appreciated. I doubt the garage would have completely discharged the system before putting on the new battery. I'm guessing only a couple of hours that the car was without a battery attached.
I've read that some batteries are incompatible with the RCZ or need coding...
Any update on further info would be great as the RCZ has been in the garage for days and it won't start with the new battery now on. Nor will it jump start with the old one I think. I'm pretty sure it's the immobilizer but how do you reset this as doing a BSI reset doesn't fix it.
Many thanks
Hi guys following up on this, our battery was drained after a long while not driving it, and I think the immobilizer I think drained it.
So a local garage said the battery was dead and replaced it. Now it won't start 🤦 it's likely the same issue but is there a difinitive answer as to whether...
Hi guys thanks for the replies 👍 OK I've sorted it, so much is similar to the stereo removal but nothing quite as dramatic.
So firstly remove the cigarette tray, then the rubber mat underneath the tray.
Unscrew the hex screws behind where the cigarette tray was, this removes the outer cover of...
Hi everyone I have an unusual question but hopefully some has done this can could kindly help.
We had a sat nav installed recently but when fitting they scratched the air con on/off big dial and most of the silver surround is now scratched off.
I have a 2nd hand air con with good dials in...
OK so now I'm confused as the light and buzz has gone 😱 nothing changed wife parked the car and had forgot to take off the middle rocker fuse.
When I went to the car the next morning, as I walked to the vehicle and opened the bonnet the switch was down, checked the light and it was off. Started...
Thanks fortunately where my poor choice of glue left a few uneven areas they are hidden so aren't seen.
The grip feel is nice and obviously won't scratch or mark in the same way, and a little polish and there back to new.
The shrink wrap tubing is quite good as it hardens and forms around...
As promised, as said I think it could have been done better, but it was a learning curve. We'd been in the car the day pics were taken, so not buffed nor primped 😂
Thank you for that, I did give it a quick sanding, then I glued heat shrink tube to the handle and it came out with a rubber coating, almost identical to the leather look. It doesn't scratch and feels good in the hand, but cutting the back out was a little frustrating, no more so than vinyl heat...
Agreed could be a rodent, although possibly whilst at the garage and we have several cars here, but none have been chewed at all, but there's always a 1st. It's going in to the garage again to have it checked as to the sidelight always being on, as battery drainage and electrical issues due to...
That's great thank you for that, is there a preferred make or would any from Halfords etc do. As I want to protect the engine as best I can.
Many thanks
Please excuse my nievity on asking this question, but could I use Castrol Magnetec 0W-30 C2. In our 2.0 HDi rcz? Or does the HDi require a different oil viscosity etc.
Many thanks
Yes I've seen them but not for me, I'd rather paint or wrap but the original silver wrap is difficult to remove.
Does anyone know what will remove it without damaging the plastic.
Many thanks
Not 100% sure but certainly on the 1st drive out. The wife went to local town and it was raining and when she locked it the light went on and buzzed.
It remains on all the time now even when driving. I've checked the fault report and it now says error with side light, but its on and appears OK...
