You also need to be careful changing the bulbs in the rear lights, so easy to crack the lens, pulling the pin out in the plastic fixing is a ludicrous design!
Lots of good points there Kenneth, to be honest though, if you had moved to an R I think you would be disappointed coming from a 200, mainly due to the gearing, the R is a terrible cruiser due to the high gearing and it’s noisy in the cabin, compared to other cars it feels like your in 4th gear...
This is the problem though, you need to buy double on everything if you think it’s going to be a keeper, I did that with the wheels and I soon realised it wasn’t going to work out moving forward due to other bits like the headlights, there is also that silly chocolate timing chain and tensioner...
Honestly there is no justification to charge those prices, but due to the low number of RCZs made there will never be after market parts, it just wouldn’t pay to set up, demand would be dire also, therefore a licence for Peugeot to print money, just not worth owning a R in my opinion.
As you live in the Netherlands, I would imagine parts would be slightly cheaper, the problem with the lights is not UV related, it’s the heat from the zenon bulbs that turn them cloudy on the inside, poor quality which is annoying really.
With that mileage you seem to have the big items covered, I would certainly look for shocks, springs can be easily sourced, exhaust bits certainly, headlights not so much on that mileage as they shouldn’t cloud inside with the use and mileage you have, my opinions are based on a R that is a...
Rare indeed but when you factor the cost of those diamond cut wheels, front callipers, disc, even headlights, they go cloudy on the inside(if you can get them, which I believe you can’t) they are all consumables, at best you only get 3 cuts with the alloys, those things are only just scratching...
The R is a hard sell now moving forward, no matter the mileage, reality is lack of parts through the dealers, there are no alternatives with some bits, plus extortionate eye watering prices.
These cars moving forward are for collectors only with low mileage, I would argue millionaire only. I...
So based on the above, you really think you can buy that car for the above valuation?
I think not, it is simply about finding the right buyer as I did, who appreciates a honest and future classic.
I miss my old R, but the fact is with regard to any parts, price wise it’s simply crazy given what for a RCZ is worth.I am just not talking about the R, just check out the price of a middle LED brake light.
I do wonder where the market is for the RCZ right now, given the extortionate price of...
Time for a change now Kerr, running a R as a daily is financial stupidity. Collectors car with low mileage absolutely, but the Z is no 205 GTI in terms of future value.
I miss my R in a way, not sure why, but when I sold we used the money to buy the required grandchild chariot, the rest I used...
Price worth paying in my view for superb brakes, no price difference compared to any other marque.
Start worrying when they are not available anymore like the headlights, meanwhile I would stock up, buy extra before they become obsolete. I am sure the alloys will go the same way.
The R right now is amazing value for money, if you can find a honest car with everything done.
Trouble is moving forward if you own one, parts are just stupidly priced or even unavailable! reason enough not to buy one very very sadly.
A superb drivers car which won’t become a future classic...
Strange advert, with some kind of weird agenda almost, as spring approaches think there will be more coming.
Not much selling as you say, but to me if you want top price you need to have a mint car, none of the ones on 17k mileage are anywhere near that bar for me.
