The deisel specialists have done a DPF regen and they hope if it's an EGR fault it'll throw a code before thenext MoT. Who knows. They recommended deisel additives by Forte to clean it up before the next MoT. I dunno. I'll just enjoy it as long as I can. Shame she's not a keeper but maybe I'll...
Thanks for the feedback.
In theory the DPF should have been cleaned up with some DPF Cleaner in the fuel and the hard driving. Instead it was over twice as bad after the driving and measuring hot :(
It's never been smoky thank goodness and the oil has also appeared fine. I think it's the NOx (or...
Hi All,
I picked up an HDi a year or so ago. I liked the MPG and the fact they were supposed to be bullet proof engines. Got one for a reasonable price and had it's 60k service done, timing belt and HPPump, but they did notice a small oil leak.
So now it failed it's emission test albeit only...
I'm interested too. In particular how you get into the menu from only the stalk as I can't find how mine is supposed to do that.
Ideally obviously you don't just want the reversing sensors to work and display but also have a way to access the menu's and update the clock :D
Sadly not before, and for the after, the only road I had was too terrifying to go full blat, but the RCZ got up to terrifying before I bottled it :)
The dyno results graph they give you show what they managed to get out of it before and after, and like I say, hopefully it'll be better than that...
Yes, she does appear to have more grunt, and improved low end response as well as more eagerness across the rev range. A pleasure to zoom off.
I did a wheel spin at 20mps in 2nd gear the other day. It was damp but still that's a first for me.
They even claim there's an MPG improvement if you...
Well it does seem nippier :) Not the 25% improvement you get on paper, but an easy 12%. Given my DPF is 20% blocked I'm going to run it on super diesel and do some revs to try and clear it. I've 70k miles on mine so I can't be sure what shape my turbo is in. I'll post the 0-60 when I get them :)
Just watched that video....didn't realise at first the petrol was the 200, and the HDi still almost kept up with it!
Great video, thanks for sharing :)
I'm about to next Monday. Certainly 9n paper they look pretty good compared to the competition and it should be a proper dyno remap rather than anything generic.
I've tried autoGlym trim/bumper polish which is pretty good for a temporary fix/improvement. It lasts better than WD40, but it's probably lasts no longer than a month.
£175 is a good price but you might want to compare with Celtic Tuning's results, which are the best I've found for £200 on a dyno. That price is just till Xmas though :)
The 200 is meant to be more robust than the 156, and the diesel the toughest of the bunch. You'll want a proper service history regardless., of course.
