Tianorth is right, the EGR valve is an easy fix and description spot on. Had trouble with an EGR on my 307 cc 2.0hdi. The other way of looking at it is... well it's gone wrong now, been repaired / replaced, thus should be good to go for another xx thousand miles. If you really want it...
