Hi and welcome, if your looking for a matching R wheel then the cheapest option would be a breakers but the R is as rare as hens teeth so it’s going to be lucky to drop on one. Remember that the R has 9” wide rims and the other 19” RCZ alloys are 8.5” so they would catch the front callipers on...

I know another member posted that they had exactly that issue with the rear but can’t remember if they sorted it if you try searching the posts you may find it but it was probably a couple of years ago.

I wouldn’t let the prospect of a petrol version developing problems put you off, yes the diesel variant may be on the whole more reliable but you have to find the right car for you petrol or diesel, condition, history mileage etc. As far as the timing chain goes MK1 or MK2 oil level and quality...

Quite possibly :eusa-think: I recently had the thermostat housing changed on the wife’s Mini CooperS (same engine) and now the air con is not working so there is definitely a link there.
