I had my font suspension top mounts replaced under warranty a few days ago, they also did a safety check on my car & pointed out that the front tyres were nearly 4 mm compared to the rear at nearly 7mm and the service receptionist said maybe to change them round for the winter, which made sense...

Just picked my car up from Pug Wakefield, it's had the modified front strut top mounts fitted under warranty and early signs are brilliant! Not a sound on the way home, I even found myself aiming for road imperfections instead of swerving round pot holes, just to see what noises it was making...

If the paintwork is still ok, try a dent puller, I think they even sell them in Asda, or certainly halfords etc. it might just return the panel to its former shape. They are basically a suction cup with handles. I haven't had anything like this, but I always wash the car myself.

Supply & demand I'm afraid. And also a captive market. It's not like you can use something else, so while there is a demand for a specific item, the price of that item will reflect that, rather than the actual manufacturing costs. Conversely, certain items become cheaper the more people buy...
