Well, if they haven't heard of the boot lock issue, let them play about with window motors, switches etc etc, and then they might finally decide to have a look at the actual issue as pointed out to them by the customer. :helpme:
Another one for you viewtopic.php?f=28&t=5994
I think you definitely have reason to expect some help at least with repair/replacement. There has certainly been known issues in respect to this problem that have previously been acknowledged by Peugeot/dealers which you can point out if needs be.
Have a look at this one viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6673&p=78576&hilit=Paint+flaking+alloys#p78576
The first one I found, but I think there have been more :eusa-think:
This subject has been covered on this forum previously. There have been several cases of alloys de laminating and returned to the dealers for replacement. I will have a look and see if I can find a thread so you have a bit of ammunition in case it's needed.
It's certainly over 3K and insurance companies use the one third of total value rule for write-offs. So a Z worth less than 9K with the need for a new rear screen would in theory be an insurance write-off
Just a bit of a lateral thought, if you bought the 156 sport at under £9k & the same day someone smashed the rear screen, technically it would be an insurance write-off :eusa-think:
Received through the post today a car sales mag which included the following list of RCZ's they have in stock.
It's a bit worrying to note that their cheapest Z is less the £9k :o
Facelift models from 2013 so your is definitely a Mk2 at 2014. The most noticeable aesthetic difference is the addition of LED running lights at the expense of front fogs. The front grill is different too.
There were quite a few "behind the scenes" changes too, which apparently included the...
I hope that's all it turns out to be. From reading previous experiences on here, it does sound very similar. You seem to know what you are doing with it anyway.
Just have a read through the various threads regarding common faults - sill problems when jacking the Z which has that area made of...
I have 19's with summer tyres. I have had no problems running on the winter roads in Yorkshire. This was my second winter with the Z, and I can honestly say it's one of the better handling cars in dodgy conditions I have had. ( I have had EFAD training though, so I do know how to handle a slide)...
:greetings-wavingblue: welcome :text-welcomewave:
Hope you get to enjoy your new Z properly soon.
I would agree with Tianorth, sounds suspiciously like water ingress on boot lock. I would mention this to the dealer in case they don't know about this known issue.
BTW :text-worthless:
When I first test drove an RCZ (200 GT) about the only thing the salesman managed to say during the drive was " just remember, it's your licence" :helpme:
From my very first Mini, I have long dreamed of owning a car like my RCZ.
Every time I see it, I feel not only proud to be the owner, but excited for the next time I can get in and drive. I can never walk away without having several looks back, just to see how amazing it looks. Passers by never...
