Hi Geoff, welcome to the forum 👋.
As Verminatir said the oil level is crucial on these engines don’t be tempted to wait for the low oil warning, as it’s probably too late by then.
Also, if you’re ever jacking the car up, be very careful of the jacking points, they are not fit for purpose, and...
So, as mentioned above, plus check for fault codes stored. Sensors are quite cheap, but a known issue as the car gets older. HPFP is an expensive repair, but will always be shown by some sort of EML or misfire, although this can also be coil packs, so a good test drive is a must. Don’t be afraid...
Welcome 👋
As has been pointed out many times on these pages, people tend to come to forums when they have issues with their car. The 90% of people who don’t have anything wrong never go looking for forums such as this.
This of course leads to an imbalance of members to problems ratio.
Yes, a...
Check any travel insurance too, it the FCO advises against travel to a country, most, if not all travel insurance companies will not provide cover if anything happens during a trip into or through that country.
Not even sure about car insurance in those circumstances too🤔
I just realised I never got round to updating this thread.
So, they had the car for @ 5 weeks, serviced it & replaced the fuel rail & HPFP. The weird thing was I was just finishing composing a fairly long email to Peugeot customer services when Evans Halshaw called me on my mobile to say the...
A silicon spray would also work well. I used Holts silicon spray lubricant all over my cars during lockdown. Mirrors, locks, handles, hinges. Basically if it was previously regularly moving, I gave it a dose. Doesn’t seem to leave the same residue as WD40 (which I also use under the bonnet).
I know of several members that have used Tony Banks in Leeds and have been very pleased with the results. I haven’t heard of anyone who has not been happy with his work. 👍
A lot of owners who have had theirs on a rolling road have discovered that the output is greater than that specified by Peugeot before any tweeks.
I have had mine for 7 years, and I have always been able to beat the 0-60 time if the conditions were right, I.e. flat smooth dry straight level road...
Maybe that how they balance their tyres, instead of using weights, just leave out the odd bolt, that’ll do it 👀😱
They are going to argue that it wasn’t them as a report to the HSE could get them into a whole heap of trouble there.🤔
I have recently had a new HPFP. That’s kind of how that started, it became more often and then was accompanied by an intermittent misfire.
All good now it’s got a new fuel rail & HPFP. Had new coil packs & plugs in December.
1st real issue in 7 years of ownership, better than new again now 👍
It is in one of the links I posted, but here’s the BSI reset procedure if you want to give that a go...
If you want to try a BSI reset :-
Put the driver’s window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all
equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the
ignition.
Wait...
