    You don't have to use genuine peugeot parts, you just need oem quality parts done by a vat registered garage to keep warranty.

    As DKZ5745 says the diesel is the best reliable engine had mine just over 2.5 years never missed a beat. Has lots of oomph as well, I'm getting 55-65 mpg. Not had to top up oil, coolant, the only fluids I have topped up are the screen wash and diesel between yearly services.

    Could be a number of factors :- eg fuel quality ie supermarket standard 95 ron or Shell Nitro v-power 99 ron for petrol or similar for diesel, (other petrol companies have similar types of premium fuels), unclean air filter, could be spark plugs require cleaning as they may be "sooted up"...
