Hi David, sorry haven’t got looking in for a few days.
Just make sure and have a good look at the stub the pipe goes on, through heat cycles and cavitation the end of the pipe crumbles away (be sure to recover as much as you can, if it has). Not quite the same thermostat housing but similar...
From you pic and info I’d be on the thermostat housing. You can spend a few £ and buy a pressure test kit to confirm. Would recommend really good flushing of the system too to get all the muck out.
The end where the hose goes on, on the smaller ones suffer from degradation and the hose starts to...
You have not much left in the engine bay, I’d near be tempted to change the oil filter/cooler gaskets and turbo feed pipes while I had that level of access. This can show as an oil stain behind turbo/cat, but can also allow coolant and oil to mix.
Also really good access to the thermostat...
Or if the paint isn’t broken a good pdr might be able to sort you. I have had a few miracles worked on my pearl white, simply because I know paint matching would be near impossible as well as setting the flop of the metallic right.
Dave, guessing spellcheck has altered your message.
If it’s PAS (power assisted steering) that is referred to in the message, the reservoir for it is in the engine bay just below the passenger side headlight.
If you can access it and follow down to see if you can check the plug and wire...
There are diaphragms listed on eBay that may fit with a bit of adapting but the actual fitting could be a real pain to get at it.
There also could be a build up of crud within the area. You might be better off with a replacement cover.
While your hoking about, if you have had to deal with pcv...
This.
PCV diaphragm split/torn or goo/carboned up, two diaphragms in rocker cover.
Throttle body spindle can call a movement but the flap doesn’t actually do it properly. Visual inspect by taking off the air in pipe from above 8mm jubilee clip on each end. From under, one 10mm to a support...
Okay, here goes. I am going to assume you are doing just the thermostat housing.
The horror in this job isn’t the changing of the thermostat as it’s only three bolts and five pipes, but making space to get at it is key in accessing it that’s we’re all the time goes. I know of people who will say...
I see you in the Kettering area, if you can’t find anyone you could try Dave Dallimore, Northhants Cars, he is an ex Peugeot guy now running a small used car place with his mate. I have dealt with him, as well as bought sight unseen in good faith and he’s always came through.
The wee convertible...
I can’t help you with identifying the leak, but mind the rad fins with that light.
Guessing you figured out uploading.
Just below the box you type a response/query into there is a box saying Attach files, click on it and options come up
Photo library (stored on you phone or pad)
Take photo...
The below pic might help you show others where your leak is if you circle the area. Personally I stay away from diesel, just look at the amount of stuff they crammed on it.
(Was about to paste in a petrol with the different spots on the rear, then re read you were diesel, silly me).
I like to (hopefully) be in front of any chain issues so change them before book, although both were past in terms of their years. I am moving the dirtier one up to 5/30 at it next service though, not sure if I will run a cleaner through it yet. In the for it list there is the possibility of...
So it’s been said quite a few times on here about the book service interval on these engine being too long.
Whilst doing something else on one of them I had the rocker cover off and took a pic for reference, and took to compare with the other I photographed when doing its timing chain about two...
Well in some one else’s post I mentioned that I have to change my thermo housing because I was loosing a bit of coolant. Never a simple job, never easy and quite involved but it’s great when it just grows into a bigger job. And I know it not my RCZ but it is the same, well everything.
So started...
No it may be me misleading, by ‘?’ Shaped pipe I mean the one highlighted red in the pic, it looks like a ?
Pressure test kit is a good way to go for coolant leaks on these, and other cars.
I rarely see another over here, and usually it’s to far behind me too quick to wave 🤭, but really there just seems to be none about, er when I am anyway.
some suggestion, but unfortunately there are more things for each.
Oil leak - you changed the crankcase breather and the leak reduced? Do you mean the ‘?’ shape pipe coming out of the valve cover? The end of that pipe at the cover should have a rubber sleeve in the end of it that seals and...
