I can only tell you I had the same symptoms and it was diagnosed under warranty by Peugeot as a faulty Camshaft Position Sensor. They changed it and all was good again. Then less than 5000 miles later the exact same sensor went again. Car was out of warranty by then so had to play merry hell...

Camshaft Position Sensor needs replacing. Maybe the temp sensor too. Get those sorted and you won't believe you're driving the same car! :thumbup:

Yes, if it sounds like a diesel/bag of spanners when started from cold then quietens down after 30 seconds (ish) it's not been changed and needs to be!
Don't know how to tell if it's been changed or not if running fine though. Maybe somebody else will have the answer to that.
