Sounds similar to my Elise Stewart - No servo or ABS, but big discs and calipers and a very low kerb weight. Requires much more delicacy than the Z, but the pedal feel is amazing.
I still rekon the best Pug brakes I experienced were on my GTI6. It would make your eyeballs pop out (although I...
Assuming the width of your new wheels is identical, to have the wheels sit exactly where the current ones do, the perfect spacer would be 13mm, but 15 will be much easier to find. Assuming the wheels are the same width, you could easily go up to 20mm to have them sit a little more flush in the...
This prob doesn't help at all, but I thought I'd just throw in my 2 cents - If I was going to downsize to 18s I'd get some super wide wheels all round ;) This would prob negate any tyre saving though. 18x10.5 would easily fit on the rear with the right offset :)
Pic from a road trip yesterday that I thought I'd share. It's not the best quality pic, but love watching the Z on the road. Has presence, particularly with the wide rims.
Every set of aftermarket factory fitted brakes (brrembo, AP racing etc) that I have owned have squealed. I just thought that was part of the fun of having 'race' brakes on a road car.
Managed to get to the pics. It doesn't work when you click on the link in tapatalk, but worked when I opened from a web browser. Weird.
Wheels look good mate. Surprised it's 15mm lower than (R) height. Thought it would be lower. Based on the side on pick I'd prob drop the rear down another 5mm...
I was considering getting a set of these also (as opposed to painting the insides of my light), but that price is pretty steep. Has anyone made their own out of vinyl etc? Surely can't be that hard.
Yeah, I am still considering pulling the lights apart to paint the inside, but the amount of spare time I end up with in the coming months will likely dictate whether that will be done or not! I did it with my 205 GTI many years ago (to repaint the inner lights chrome) and they remained sealed...
Thanks mate.
Unfortunately the pics are now lost, but further up in this thread I did actually paint the wheels in a dark copper metallic colour to give it a point of difference, but I didn't like it.
I had also considered painting the brake calipers bright red or yellow, but haven't gone...
Haha. Yeah, I'm wondering how long it'll take the rears to actually wear out! They're 275s with not much weight over them so feel like they'll be on there forever! I might just bite the bullet and replace them in a year or so.
Thanks mate. Yeah, they're night and day different to the dodgy tyres that the previous owner had fitted just before sale. They were 'FarRoads' - took them off with 70% tread left.
Looking forward to replacing the Pirelli's on the back with PS4S too!
Given Photobucket ruined this thread, I thought I'd post a couple of pics after I gave her a good wash and polish this arvo.
She's been performing well with new front tyres making a huge difference to the way she feels on the road.
Fantastic little car.
