The pipe was cheap - €25. I wouldn’t like to think what the labour would be to change it. Unless of course they have some clever articulated tool for the job and it takes them 5 minutes!
Ok, to update on this. I split the hose at the damage and inserted a connector, seems to have done the job. Perhaps I was lucky - the damage was where I could get to it. Seems cause was a lose plastic pipe mounting bracket where it is mounted at the front of the engine above the sump. It moved...
I think I’ve found a simple solution. Pipe stays connected at rear of engine. Where it is damaged (and I have easy access to that) I will cut it and insert a connector. Problem sorted and no need to disconnect from the rear of the engine. Needs must!
Hi all.
I have a damaged flexi water hose (seems driveshaft has been touching it and worn) that goes up to the back of the engine - 1.6 petrol - it’s the pipe connected directly to another pipe that goes to the bottom of the coolant expansion tank.
it seems a bit of a bu**er to get access to...
Hi all, I finally “fixed” this one despite not really doing any one specific thing. Yesterday I took out the under bonnet fuse box completely, removed all fuses, then put it back. I also removed the BSI unit behind the glove compartment completely, connectors off, fuses out. Let’s call it...
Cheers will do. Forecast up to 39C this week here and car parked in the sun so I’m picking the moment carefully until it just gets too hot sat in it. No space in garage sadly.
Ok will follow that also. One thing I didn’t mention but comes to mind I should do although I have no idea if any link - the AC control unit has zero power and Diagbox just gives a no comms error on the AC. It’s a job I was going to look at next but any chance a common issue here? Keep in mind...
Strange indeed, but great you managed to sort in the end. I’m battling with a drivers window that will not go up - tried all that can think of and still stumped. Will crack on!
Hi, received the 308 unit today, only difference to RCZ is the small plug in relay module otherwise identical it seems. I swapped the relay module from the existing unit, but same problem, down ok, up a tiny jolt on motor and then nil. As I’ve already proven relay module fine by testing on...
I have taken a punt on a 308 unit as the cost at 15£ is worth the experiment! I can use the motor internals if these match even if nil else does. If successful will revert as it’s good to know where we can save a bit here and there.
Mk1 2011. If I hadn’t recently put my front bumper back on again I would pop out and take mine off to check. I cannot remember anything else I did openly speaking - strange indeed. Sorry couldn’t help more but good luck this weekend. If you find the issue let us know - could be mine is not...
Yes, I suppose will need to look at changing unit although when I swap relay control board from passenger window I get the same issue so I don’t think it’s that. Motor looks fine but yes, could be drawing too high current in reverse. I was trying to avoid the 130£ needed for a used unit when for...
Hi, no, certainly no forcing, took a bit of jiggling to keep all 4 top clips “open” as if you allow it to they will pop back in. Obviously the two small torxs on top, all the black push fittings out, those four push clips I mentioned, three torxs either side at top where it joins the adjustable...
Hi Pedro, thanks for coming back. I can see the command from the switch via Diagbox - can also see the switching voltage kicking in, motor jumps a tiny amount and that’s it. Other direction, fires up no problem. The motor is off the regulator to rule out any issues with that although when...
Update - BSI reset once more - passenger window managed to inch up to top, reset with 5 second rule and now up-down no problems. One step forwards. Drivers window still no go so as an illustration here attached short demo - turns fine one way (lowering) but after short jolt will not turn the...
Hi Lee,
Mine just came off simply tbh. There is nil behind badge holding on but there are small clips along top edge at front - 4 in fact - that you access and release by pushing down into the very small square holes that sit between the push type plastic fastenings. Headlights out of course, 3...
