thanks Joe.I plan to start looking mid winter (Jan/Feb time ) as ,I hope, prices will have softened up by then.Judging by the prices being asked it looks like everyone thinks it's a sellers market at the moment and they may be right.Good luck with your sale.
Seriously looking at the RCZ to replace my Passat .
Would like to move to an automatic but they seem to be rare and can't find much comment on the reliability of Peugeot's automatic box ie am I looking at the same sort of problems that
go with VW's DSG box ?
Would appreciate your thoughts,thanks.
There are not many 200's out there,it was obviously not as popular as the 156 or diesel.
Who knows what 2021 will bring. If new car sales slump then there is a good chance the second hand market will harden up .
One of my kids is in the motor trade and his dealer friends say they are really...
Not seen an R come up for sale yet but have not been looking for them so may have missed one.
I shall be looking for a '13 200 GT. I am not keen on the shape of the front end/grill on the mk 1.
I have a budget of 6-7K in mind .
My rule of thumb has always been that if a car doesn't sell...
As you will see from my post below am looking to get one of these in the not too distant future so have been keeping an eye on the adverts ( ebay,Autotrader etc).
It's the same old cars week in week out, they don't seem to be selling.
Maybe it's across the board and the second hand car market is...
I could not have put it better myself !
As for the Prince engine, not so sure.
A lot of people on the Mini Cooper forums think the original Mini Cooper engine ( can't remember what that was called) was far better.
My annual mileage will be about 2000 ,and sedate miles at that,so I'm sure it will...
Interesting comments George.
I have chosen this car purely on its looks and am not expecting much in the way of quality.
On the other hand I am probably swayed by the Clarkson view that French cars fall apart as you drive them.
Given that Clarkson comes out with a lot of BS I probably ought to...
I'm lost. Please keep it simple guys,I am an OAP my brain doesn't function that well now.
Been doing lots of reading up on the timing chains for these engines, not the best bit of engineering design in the world.
Those plastic guides look ridiculously fragile.
What are the tell tale signs that the...
Have now done some research on the 'chain 'issue.
It seems it's not the chain but the tensioner/s that is the problem.
It seems tensioners are cheap and not difficult to replace.
Will be a while yet before the Passat goes as have a huge amount of cutting down (trees and laurels) and the Passat...
Thanks for the nice welcome.
As for reliability,I think the electronics on all modern cars plus the dpf feature on diesels means they are all suspect compared to 'old school' cars like the 944.
Having said that I have had no problems with the Passat or the Boxster, maybe just lucky.
Am intrigued...
Just beginning to appreciate the fabulous looks of these cars,a real design icon.
The boss has told me to reduce the fleet (VW Passat,Porsche 944,Boxster) so am selling the 944 and thinking of replacing the Passat with an RCZ.
Not sure if it will be a 156 or the 200 .My driving is quite sedate...
