Have bought this unit. Will update when it arrives on how I get on with both using the device and resolving RCZ issues. 🤞

Hey there... update.

Got unit, plugged it in and managed to get some fault codes. Now I am no mechanic but have worked in IT for many years...

I’m sure if I knew what I was doing it would be a lot simpler! Like I didn’t know if I should have ignition on only or have engine running etc! 😂 So I basically tried a few combinations. Unit was ok to use, auto scan gave me no info on ABS which is what I bought it for as ABS/ESP light was on 😭 But a manual scan allowed me to select ABS 😅 ... basically with a bit of playing around I managed to get some fault codes, Maybe too many! 😱 I’m hoping someone here can tell me what they mean in parts and costs! 🤞😌😣 I have attached some pics... codes below.. also since plugging the machine in and clearing the faults listed, as expected they came back as nothing was changed but now I have ESP/ASR fault and ABS System Faulty STOP. Now I haven’t driven the car since reset of fault codes. SORN. Any help, bad news, or even good news greatly appreciated!

C0040 - Brake pedal switch fault:Coherence with pressure sensor. Coherence
P1536 - Main and secondary brake information fault coherence
P0131 - Intermittent Upstream Oxygen Sensor Signal - short circuit to earth
P0565 - Intermittent Cruise control signal fault - Value Invalid

ESP/ASR Warning
ABS System Faulty

Some one please help! 👍🤞😀😀

Cheers

Macca

Try checking the Battery (maybe disconnect wait 5 mins then reconnect too many Elec faults showing for coincidence? ECU does store codes historically & can trigger these when a real issues arises alternatively reset the BSI
C0040 Brake pedal switch "A" subfault
P1536 Parking brake switch circuit failure
P0131 02 Sensor circuit low bank 1 Sensor 1 (poss upstream Lambda Sensor) failing
P0156 Cruise Control "ON" signal

I will try that, there was receipt with car for a new battery when purchased... maybe someone has already gone down this line of enquiry!.

P0156 - Does this just mean the Cruise Control was switched on when diag ran?

Thanks! 👍

Built in systems interface. It handles all sorts of functions in the vehicle.
They can periodically get their knickers in a twist.

Hey there. Update not so good! Looks like ABS Control Module/pump?!? Is faulty! And an oil leak! Can anyone advise if I can purchase a second hand unit (£100 on ebay) and use? Or does it have to be configured for the specific car? And if so how do I do that? Dealer? Or can you get a Diag tool to do this?

ESP/ASR fault on dash
Also
ABS Brake System Faulty

cheers.

I've only ever used Diagbox/pp2k, which does everything.
Hey mate, Is should this a unit that does all?
I got a diag machine that is meant to read ABS issues. Is this different for ESP/ASR issues?

If anyone can reply to my questions in more detail I would appreciate it 👍

Everything, it's dealer software.
Vin coding, reading, resetting, live data.
You'll need a laptop though.

Cheers mate. Just had a friend of a friend round with a 6k snap-on machine! Wish I knew about him before!! 🙄

He has ran full dealer type diags. Taken details of all codes. Gonna get back to me tomorrow but as suspected one issue may be ABS pump/module at least! Mmm Now I believe if I get the exact same part number from same model/year it should work without needing coding? Is this correct?
I can see this thread lasting a while! Lol! Keep posted as this is probably the worst case scenario of a RCZ you will see! Trying to keep up beat! Was always a gamble at £2.2k … but didnt expect this! Oh deer!

You got to get the exact No as you rightly said & you should be OK as some of these modules won't configure to the ECUs for some reason its the same with the Thermostat tanks the one I bought off ebay was no good for the 200GT engine but was matched to the exact car?
Good luck with the ongoing saga I'm sure you will be rewarded for your perseverance 👌

Or my ‘new guy’ (I hope as he seems to know his stuff) … I will keep updating the post and not disappear and the end of a long post with no final outcome as it was all resolved like some peeps. 👍 All help, advice and encouragement (and maybe places to get parts!) appreciated always!

At this moment moment still waiting to hear back from mechanic.. 🙄🤷
thinking timing chain/tensioner/water pump also possibly! Mmmm if it was insured……. Mmm lol

Right! An update!!! Finally!!!

replaced coolant tank and censor, used old ecu from abs module and unit from second hand pump and combined to create new unit.. issues resolved! Also needed engine flush, oil, brake fluid, coolant… front springs etc … rocker cover gasket… passed MOT. Now has airbag/seat belt tensioner error or startup. Suspect abs switch as when looking at it a blade of metal fell out!

How do I get access to switch?
Also been advised from another post may be pedestrian impact ribbon cable behind front bumper as this was removed and refitted durng work?

just want to get to the end of this project!! Aaahh!!

Thanks for all support
