WOW! How wide is the RCZ

I've just checked the dimensions of the RCZ as we're picking one up on Sunday and thought it can easily go in the garage. Parkers have got it at 2107mm wide. One of the reasons I sold the SL500 is that it wouldn't fit in the garage in the house we've recently bought. Width was fine but length wise it wouldn't fit as we've got appliances at the back of the garage that we would have in the utility in the old house...washing machine etc. I never thought I'd have a problem with another car fitting as long as it was shorter and never dreamt that I'd have to worry about the width of another car. I did check the dimensions of the 997 C2S as that is what I ultimately wanted to replace the SL with and the Porsche would fit as its shorter than the SL and pretty much the same width, but the RCZ is almost a whole foot wider.

Does anyone have a regular size single garage that they put their RCZ in?

Peugeot quote 2107mm with the mirrors open. The quoted width without mirrors is 1845mm. You can always close the mirrors in using the switch on the drivers door. That would shave a good few mm off, but it is a wide car.

To be honest, if it doesn't fit, I would keep the car & build a new house to go round it, but that's just me :eusa-think:

I have a standard garage and my car would fit if it was empty, but thats with the mirrors tucked in.

I'm assuming that all the figures on Parker's site are like for like with mirrors open which still means the RCZ is stlll a foot wider with the mirrors closed. The current house is the first for around 20 years that hasn't got a double garage.....and I miss it :( I'll have to wait until Sunday to try it but I've got to move quite a bit of stuff out of the garage tomorrow ready but if it doesn't fit then all that work would be for nothing.

Let's hope the power fold mirrors keep working.

Porsche vs Rcz - at least you're still going to end up with a P car.

There's no known fault with the mirrors, is there? :wtf:

The other P is still on the cards as that one's for me but may have to wait until next year now as I upped the budget on the RCZ... but she's worth it. Just have to readjust the budget on mine this year.

Only fault I heard of with the mirrors is that some people have had noisy ones. I haven't heard of any stopping working :eusa-think:

No, they'll be fine, only issue ( if it is one) is the noise they make when opening and shutting. Keep saving for your car, make it happen and enjoy. You only foreseeable problem is who's car has the garage? I've got a feeling I already know the answer :)

This may be of interest to you baz. Cracking car for the money. Is it worth holding out for the C4S though?

No, the 4S is slower and not as much fun on track and my intention was to track it occasionally. 10 years ago I nearly bought one when the 997 first came out after having a couple of Boxster S's. Good job I didn't as I went through an expensive divorce just after and trade (I'm in retail) hasn't been the same since. I've hankered after one ever since although unfortunately new is now definitely and absolutely out if the question. :(
