Hi All

A friend took me for a drive in in his GT a few weeks ago and I now am the owner of a lovely Mercury Grey RCZ R.
All a bit spur of the moment but so far I love the car and hope I don't regret my impulse buy.

I quite fancied a red one but the demonstrator at my local garage hooked me and i decided the car had so much inbuilt flair, it didn't need a flashy colour as well.

I came from a DC3 THP and amazed at the extra power Peugeot has found from the same engine. Love the looks and can't understand why some ppl say "why didn't you go for a TT". I've never driven a TT but I have to say performance wise the R compares pretty favourably to my old Boxter S, and is far more interesting to look at than both.

My only quibble so far is the torque steer. Not surprising given the amount of power through the fronts but in truth I guess I'm a RWD man at heart. Otherwise it seems an awesome drive and I look forward to putting some more miles on it and getting to know you all as well..

Thanks, It was a close call between this and Moroccan Red... Think I made the right choice for me but won't know for sure till I see it parked next to a red one. Fortunately, they are pretty rare. lol

I agonised over the colour, too, but eventually plumped for the Moroccan Red. Lol!

Welcome :D

I dont think they do a bad colour in the R, not had the torque steer experience in over 2k miles and I live in a wet area of the country, had the front diff work a few times though (wet roundabout being one of them), that can feel like torque steer but only 2 things cause torque steer and that is lack of traction and too agressive on the old throttle

No amount of electronic or mechanical trickery is going to completely eliminate torque steer nor some degree of wheel spin...if the car is being driven as intended. ;) Keeps you from napping though and adds to the character! ;)

Your car is awesome and I really do think I that I would have chosen the same colour as you. Enjoy!!

I've had torque steer in a Subaru which is 4wd, it was wet though and I did plant the throttle  so even 4wd isnt immune to it but with fwd you just drive around it by not being agressive on the throttle, its actually slower doing that than it is driving normally ;)

Hi Biaggi, think i might have seen you on the A404 heading up towards High Wycombe few days ago. I was tempted to stay in convoy as I had my mate in his GT behind me. The 3 cars looked great together!
