I live up in the Highlands and take delivery of my RCZ on Monday. Went out looking for a second car for a bit of fun. Other car's a Discovery. Went into the Peugeot dealer in Inverness. Took one out for a test drive and ended up buying a new one. Can't wait! I just took to it as soon as I started driving it. The model is GT with the diesel engine. The one I took out for a test drive had a diesel engine and I like its torque. Keeps the same fuel for both cars and saves any embarrassing mistakes at the forecourt. I'm a biker as well and like nothing more than touring around the Highlands. Looking forward to taking the RCZ round some of the great roads up here.

No we live in Inverness. Just love the drive or ride out to Applecross. Good feed at the Applecross Inn always a bonus.
Getting the car on Monday. Never had a car with no spare wheel before although I'm used to having no spare wheel on the bike. Thankfully a member of the RAC many thanks to Tesco points for that.

Know what you mean I put a spacesaver in the boot from the 407 it will fit on the back. The road over to Applecross has some stunning views and corners and agree the food at the Applecross in is very good.

Great part of the country and fantastic roads to Applecross on both bike and car - have done both  Applecross Inn does serve great food and probably just as well as miles from anyone. Went up for a weekend on bike in October and weather was almost tropical

Maybe we should organise an RCZ owners trip to there. Stunning scenery and great roads with no traffic police that I have ever seen

Great Idea. If anyone is driving up here watch the road A832 Achnasheen to Achanalt. Temptingly fast stretch of road but becoming popular with the boys in blue!

I'm watching it but although I love the sound of a drive on those roads, they look a little narrow for our RCZs.

RCZ will be fine on the Applecross road, plenty of passing places. Ullapool to achiltibuie and then on to lochinver is a different story. Great road but narrow. If you get to Lochinver go out to Stoer point. Best bacon roll and coffee in the Highlands and watch the whales go by.

The problem arises when you meet traffic and your not near a passing place. I wouldn't want to take mine onto the edges and you would have to as the RCZ is a wide car. It would be ok to do it in your Discovery but not so much in the Z as it's much lower.

Always looking for new suggestions for places to go a bit more North than me. The west coast run is one that I do intend on doing but I'd need to take a couple of days to do it and my wife is not a great passenger. Her and a 5 month old son don't make this a particularly attractive proposition!! Anything else mainland but further north that you can think of that is worth a run from Aberdeen? Preferably one that I can do in a day...minus the wife!

Just happened to see photos on facebook today about a driving trip to Scottland organized by a Dutch car magazine.

Some of the roads were quite narrow...

Yeah but just look at that stunning scenery in some of the other photos!! We are truly blessed with an utterly breathtaking landscape...even in the rain!

Clearly she took a liking to our Kelpies sculptures as well as the natural surroundings. I've seen them photographed endlessly but still haven't seen them in person. Thanks for sharing frankvdb.

The problem going further North from Aberdeen is the slog from Aberdeen to Inverness. Aberdeen to Inverness to Ullapool to Gairloch then back to Inverness and Aberdeen. This is certainly feasable and you go through some stunning scenery. For a shorter run from Aberdeen go North to Fraserburgh then along the coast, visiting all the little fishing villages. Pennan, Gardenstown, Macduff, Whitehills, Portsoy and Cullen. The back through Keith and then Aberdeen. You dont get the Hills but the harbours are different and its a great road.

Yeah Applecross, the road North from Aberdeen is a little more bearable past Elgin. That stretch is horribly tedious!! Why that road to Inverness has never been upgraded is beyond me! I often go out the fishing village route and via the Cruden Bay road because it's a cracking wee road. My other favourite roads are heading out via Keith and Huntly and out into Speyside and Whisky country. There are some cracking drives around that way too.
