White Smoke

Sat at the railway crossing this morning and I noticed I seemed to be generating my own cloud of fog. Car was fully warmed up after my 15 mile commute and it wasn't even that cold here this morning. If I add that to the (minimal) oil and coolant loss, is there anything else it could be apart from the Head Gasket? Oil looks clean though.

I've got it booked in for some new tyres next week, but if this is looking as bad as I'm thinking then I might chap it in before the big bill arrives!

Car is a 2011 200 GT with less than 30K miles on the clock. How much for a Head Gasket change???

It might be worth taking the car to a local garage to get them to pressure check the cooling system. Much cheaper than changing the head gasket - which it might not need.

It might not be the head gasket. It could be a cracked block but I would think this is extremely unlikely.

Good luck. Cheers. Bruce.

Put some K-Seal in the system, see if that helps.

I'll probably be changing the car in the new year anyway, I rarely keep any car longer than 12 months!

You'll definitely be changing the car in the new year now...

Did you look at the testimonials/horror stories about these sealers on the internet first?

Really hope it works for you but personally I wouldn't go anywhere near that crap on any car worth more than £500! :|

+1. It's the equivalent of intentionally giving your cars arteries cholesterol. :helpme:

I've drained and refilled the system. Smoke signals seem to have stopped!
