which is best?

Whilst i understand the beauty is in your own eye, however, what is everyone's opinions on these two, please...

2011 GT 2.0HDi, 40k miles, fsh blah blah, or....
2013 Sport 2.0HDi, 33k miles...

is it simply a case of different trim and wheel sizes, or am i missing the obvious? Other than phase 1 and 2 styling..Both are advertised with dealers around the 13k mark...

The 2013 facelift is the more modern looking, but some prefer the phase 1 front end. Re-sale values are likely to be a bit higher on the phase 2 when you eventually decide to swap it for a newer RCZ.

The sport spec is lower than the GT, but it depends if the car has any extras, sat nav for instance. :!:

The mileage difference is minimal especially for a diesel, but it is still there, and depending on the mileage you intend to do, it could easily be an extra years mileage on the car. If you are going to be a high mileage user, it doesn't really matter anyway.

Colour choice? Are they the same? Which is your preference if not? :?:

Condition? An extra 2 years use can take a toll on a car, or it might make little difference, depending on how it was used/looked after. :roll:

Going back to the first line, my choice would always be the phase 2, not only because it was newer and less miles, but I just prefer the look of the car. :eusa-think:

I would choose the one with more toy because otherwise I would be trying to bring it up to a better standard.

both are floating about on fleabay, amongst other sites. As for toys, I'm not a 100% which spec consists of what, apart from seeing that one is leather or faux and the other, is cloth. As for mileage, i wont be motorway munching daily, so i wont be racking up heaps, for sure..I'm going to guess that the engines will be the same, with both models? Issue i have is, that i live in Norfolk, and to view both these cars will take a day, due to the distances involved in both of the locations, one is in the Midlands and the other is in the village of London...

Does it really need to be a diesel at all then if you're not doing significant mileage? You'll need to be giving it a good run in order to keep the diesel particle filter clean otherwise you're looking at potential engine troubles. The 156, for example, will give you a good return on a tank of fuel and is comparable in terms of performance. Slightly quicker 0-62, slightly down on torque.

For me, if I was choosing between the two and the condition of both vehicles was comparable then, I'd be going for the GT spec (but changing the grille). I really don't like the look of the Sport alloys and the 19s just give the car a better overall look/poise. I also think that you're likely to have greater chance of negotiating money off that one. I'd be looking to take them down in price anywhere between £500 to £1k.

Good luck and let us know what you decide. If it makes you feel happier, my latest car came about courtesy of an 11 hour (600+ mile) journey. It's worth it for the right car and the right savings. Besides, the journey back is awesome.

I guess ultimately only you can decide which you prefer because you'll be the one who sees/drives it every day...

Distance to collect doesn't bother me if it's the right car though. I flew Ryanair from Nottingham to Belfast to collect mine then drove it back and like mrizzle says, the journey back was just awesome! :clap:

I would choose the first. Leather, 19" rims and pre facelift :thumbup:

But I personally really don't like the look of the face lift. :|

It would have to be the GT spec car as the sport will have cloth seats for me a big no no in a car so georgous! When I was looking to buy my Z after seeing both interiors it had to be leather I wouldn't touch a cloth interior no matter how cheap the car was. :beer:

The short answer is that the GT is better specced. The newer (post facelift) Sport models have closed the gap a bit due to more equipment now coming as standard so what really marks the two models aside now are the fact that the GT has heated leather seats and 19ins alloys as standard whereas the sport model has cloth seats and 18ins alloys. Auto headlights, wipers etc are now standard across the range (initially exclusively standard on GT spec). It'd be interesting to know which (if any) options have been added to either - vision pack, sat nav etc.

none of the models i asked about earlier, have a shat-nav. As neither do lots of others i have 'researched'..I'm off to view another one tomorrow, another 2011 GT, without a shat-nav, so i'll let you know if i can broker a deal or so...

Well...personal opinion having owned a GT is that it's preferable to the Sport, particularly if neither have vision pack etc. Good luck tomorrow!
