So after being away for many many many months I'm a bit curious as to where some of the members are ?

MrRizzle, Ron, Jassy :eusa-think:

Are they still here or moved onto other things ?
I'm looking through the members list to see if some of the old regulars are still here ?

Even the Mods and Admin rarely venture on here ! That's not a dig at them it's just a sign of where the Forum is now !

Hi Jactac. Sorry to hear of your news - surely things have to get better soon!

Sadly this forum is a shadow of what it once was. Some moved to other cars and others, after the Wrapper saga, lost enthusiasm for the forum and moved to the Facebook group which is thriving. Like one or two others I just look in from time to time but rarely contribute. Its a real shame.

Anyway, all the best for the future.

Such a shame.
I praised this forum so much to "outsiders".

So whats this "wrapper" thing then :eusa-think:

That was just a small minded guy with a big problem. It took rather a long time to stop the abuse he gave others simply for voicing their honest opinions.
I think the mods took it quite hard that they thought it was their fault for not acting quicker.

I think it did spoil the forum for quite a few people.

Nice to see you back on here though. Hope things improve for you. I know these things tend to build up, having lost my Sister, and both parents over the last two years, and also having a few health problems myself.

Just keep positive, things have to improve eventually.

Hi Jactac!! Long time no speak and I am so sorry to have heard of all your upsetting personal circumstances. I check in regularly but find my time so stretched at the moment so rarely get the time to really interact with posts. Between a ridiculous workload and my son (who turns 1 in a fortnight...where does the time go?!), I really am struggling to balance things.

When I get a second I'll write a more extended response but I really do hope that things improve for you and that you finally shake this rotten luck that you and your family are having. You're in my thoughts!

How you doin buddy.

Your son ???

How did that happen :eusa-think:
I mean when did that happen, I obviously know how it happened  :?
I must of been gone longer than I thought,
No wonder you've missed a bit of time on here, you've been a busy little chappy.
Didn't know you had it in you. :p
Joking aside congratulations

Things have been bad for me and Vicky last year and half in particular.
Time just fly's by and life moves on at a rate that takes your breath away.

So what this about Jassy getting an Audi, it must be a convertible so that he can top up his tan
When was he last on here ?
And Ron where did he go ?
The meets are they still happening ?

I can vaguely remember a few up and downers with Wrapper, not me other members, but I left soon afterwards.

Have you still got the Z ?

Actually I'm on here every couple of days to check-in in case anything needs done, but this place has always been a small forum due to the car being a low volume product. For similar reasons it doesn't attract much interest in terms of sponsorship either.

Truth be told, I made an arse of the Wrapper situation in trying to be too even-handed and a very vocal handful of old-school members moved on as a result, but the truth is that there's a certain price-point for cars that make car forums busier (due to the type of demographic that tend to be the most active on forums) and the RCZ hasn't hit it yet. Most of the early adopters have moved on and so content on the forum has dipped until that price point has been reached.

The Forum doesn't actually encourage people to return visit though does it? What does it actually offer it's members?

As Hans very kindly pointed out, the RCZ Owners Group is going from strength to strength. I like to think that's because we offer incentives for members to keep coming back, by keeping it fresh and making people feel welcome and a part of something that they can enjoy. A good example of this are the Meets we regularly hold. Members are very keen to be involved. An end of November saw 18 RCZs attend, which considering the time of year and the weather is a sign of how far we have come.

I personally think the Forum needs some new ideas................................ I feel it's a shame how this forum has become.

Probably some people won't agree with me, some might but it's how I feel having seen it from all sides.

The truth is in my experience with car forums, it's only a small minority that want to take it to the point of meeting up and doing get-togethers.

The bulk of folk use a forum as a place to consume content, share ideas and learn about the product from other users. Most folk aren't interested in anything else. Even on much larger forums the percentage of users who take it beyond words on a screen is very small in relation to the total user base. I've been through all this before and it's a fruitless endeavor to try and get folk more involved and more social, if it's not what they're really into.

I'm on a forum for my own particular car most days, to see if there's any new info worth reading and share my experiences but I've no interest in taking it any further than that. I'm in the second biggest demographic. The biggest demographic are those who read forums but don't bother registering or posting and the smallest are those like yourself that are interested in developing a more social scene around a common interest. I applaud that but it represents a small section of the user-base.

For example if 18 car owners from this site attended a meet, it would equal 0.34% of the total number of visitors to this site in the last month.

Ah yeah, but what if the meets had a clause, like you had to be nude and covered in jam
I reckon that figure of 0.34% would rise significantly .
After all everyone just loves to lick jam, dont they :eusa-think: :p :p

I think that was a disgusting thing to write on a forum like this and I am thoroughly shocked.

Now if you had said covered in peanut butter..... :eusa-whistle:
