This is my method and being using it for 8 years on my RCZs and the OH’s Land Rover Discovery’s.
Power wash down and with a brush, brush off anything that may still be stuck to the fabric. Once completely dried, spray Gtechniq I1 liberally on the fabric and using a clean, dry brush, brush it into the fibres. Make sure you cover all the fabric. Leave it to dry overnight, usually for me. I1 will keep it protected for at least a year and makes cleaning each time easy.
Each time you wash thereafter just power wash down as normal and brush it. Leave to dry.
