Still trying to persuade the boss to let me bid on one if these for the garden and...ahem ahem...junior. I'd sell her car for the Spider-Man one!! They're being auctioned off for a local charity (Archie foundation).

These were taken from my work today where they're being exhibited together over the weekend having previously been dotted at locations around the city.

There are 50 in total but these are my favourites.

(Mac thought you might appreciate that one)

I may being pumped off to Rwanda next year for a few weeks and this has not gone down well with Mrs Rizz. I'm thinking I could use it as a bargaining tool to get the authorisation to bid. She'll have forgotten the deal by next year...right? ;) Who am I kidding...? Women never forget!!

That's funny we had the exact same thing round our way recently except they were horses instead of dolphins.

I give them my 107 courtesy car in exchange for one of those (although choosing which one would be a bit of a dilemma)!!

In the hierarchy of animals, dolphins trump horses hands down. I don't trust any animal whose face is longer than my torso.

Nats, I'd definitely consider the dolphin to be trading up! There are a lot of fantastic ones that I didn't take pics of but these are my undoubted favs.

Stand Tall giraffes raise £115,000 for Colchester Zoo charity at auction

The 30 giraffe figurines, which have been dotted across the borough since June 2, were auctioned off at a gala evening at the art gallery to raise money for Cochester Zoo’s charity, Action for the Wild.

About 300 people attended the event last night, run by Colchester auctioneers Reeman Dansie, with some giraffes selling for between £6,000 and £7,000.

This was last year

Ooft...that would look awesome in the garden too!! Sadly I think that a lot of these will end up in the hands of oil companies where they'll sit in the lobbies of MNCs or their cash rich CEOs. Ultimately, I guess, as long as they're making money for charities then that's what's really important. However, the people of Aberdeen have really fallen in love with these and it'd be wonderful to see a significant number ending up being owned by local people.

Rwanda??? Seriously? What an amazing experience that would be. But you'll see bugger all....unless you were a burka thing, think about your Viking colouring!! You'll never hack the heat!

I'm still missing Wooly Wonder though, where's it hiding?

Are you going to the auction? I'd love to go but might settle for watching online. There's a few Steve fancies aswell, sadly I doubt we'd afford any!

Seen some cows in Braehead shopping centre recently.Like i mean model ones and not local talent.Guess the Aberdeen ones should be dolphins as more suited to the weather up there. :helpme:

If Nicole Kidman managed then I'm sure that I can. The difference is that she probably went back to her air conditioned 5 star spa hotel at the end of the day and I'll be in a hut.

Woolly is in lockdown inside Mitchell Hall I believe.

I'm not going to go the itself but I will be watching the bidding closely. I won't be able to afford any of them though. Persuade Steve to downgrade to a Boxster S and you would. Good luck with that!! ;)
