Never heard of ironX jactac....................................but seems like I'm gonna have to get some now

 Snowy

Oh man, it's a must have with a white car.
When you apply it dont be alarmed when your car starts to cry "cry tears of blood"
It's all normal.

The paint work looks and feels 100% smoother afterwards. Put a polish and wax on top and your laughing

Even just using it now and then before a normal wash makes hell of a difference. ;)

U notice any orange spots on ur car?

Apart from clearing the orange spots (impregnated iron contamination) I find that it makes the paint feel smoother

All cars have this iron contamination problem but it shows more on lighter coloured cars, especially white.

Good thread Jactac :)

I'm finding it really hard to answer this question, there are so many products that I will probably always use but to narrow it down to one, is nigh on impossible.

For me, it would be between Valet Pro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam (but used as a pre wash in a chemical sprayer rather than a snow foam) because it's cleaning abilities are second to none. THE best Pre wash I have ever used. It leaves the car 90% clean without even washing it. It also means that you've removed the worst of the grime and grit therefore reducing the risk of scratching your car when you come to physically wash it. You can dilute this down to 1:30 or use it neat. Even at 1:20, which is how I use it, it's cleaning powers are very impressive AND it won't remove your wax or sealant. It can also be used as a wheel cleaner too so it's 3 products in 1.

The second product would be Gtechniq G1 rain repellant. It lasts up to 2 years or 20k miles. You apply it and then forget about it then when you are driving in the rain, the water just sheets off the windscreen. You don't realise how good this stuff is until it starts to fail then the water doesn't clear and you have to use your wipers more, which I hate.

is this the stuff rcz1 ...does it do the same job as the auto finnese stuff mrizzle is recomending !!

Mel, that is the old stuff. This is a new improved version

I would use it through a chemical sprayer / pressure sprayer. One of those garden things that you can buy cheaply from Wilkinson's. It's fantastic used this way and dilute it 1:20 or 1:10. Leave it to dwell for 5 minutes or so then power wash down.

It is similar to Citrus Power but its quite expensive and you soon use it, especially in the summer months with all the dead flies.

thats the stuff for me ..leave for 5 min ideal to have a brew :-D so once ive sprayed it off could i spray the iron x on the wet car rub in then just spray off !! thinking of using the 2 products on my not so white focus after coming off the building site ... :eusa-think:

I would wash it after applying the Advanced Snow Foam then spray the Iron X on while the car is still wet then rinse it down and dry.

So I'm having a bit of a sort out of my car cleaning products, some have been in my kit for years and are destined for the bin.

If you're anything like me you've probably spent a small fortune on keeping your car looking it's best.
So out of your mass collection of car care products in your kit, and if you had to pick just one product that would always be at hand what would it be :eusa-think:

For me it would be a simple choice....IRONX..........

Yep as simple as that. Never heard of it until I came on here , (RCZ1)
I think this is fantastic stuff, maybe because owning a white car you can see it perform exactly as it says on the tin. No hassle, no rubbing or buffing, just spray on and hose off, great stuff.

Maybe some owners will pick a polish or a wax ect, but for me Ironx is something that I would always want in my collection. It just seems to keep the paintwork looking like new after a quick spray then a wash.

We might find "The Perfect Cleaning Kit" by picking just one favourite product.

So whats your one choice :?:

Hi Perkybillet
Never used one of those buffers but recently been researching which is the best type of polisher to use.
Apparently dual action is the most suitable for novices such as myself.

Yes definitely DA (Dual Action) is the best for a beginner. There are useful guides and videos on Detailing World and you tube for anyone interested in how to use one. Also buy a scrap panel to practice on first before touching your car. Better to be safe than sorry :)

I'd like to get one but if I'm honest I think I would be a bit worried in case I did damage, but also I actually enjoy manually polishing/waxing the car.
Bit of a work out, brush up on the "Wax on Wax off" technique , as the Karate kid would say.

just found another use for the valet pro advanced snow foam ..used the same way in a sprayer at the same dilution 1:20 it is perfect as a patio and deck cleaner !! 2 for the price of 1 ..saturday just got better
