What is this hanging underneath?

I saw this today as I walked out to my car; probably because I was quite late leaving work today, it was the first time the car park was clear and I could see from a distance!

This is just forward of the rear suspension and next to the exhaust. Clearly it is a cover of some sort, and is supposed to be held on by 4 plastic rivets by the looks of it; only one was left. For the time being, I have used alu tape to hold it back up. Above it, it seems to be supporting a black box of some sort.

If its at the rear it will be a heat shield for the tank.

Thanks, it does indeed look like that. The fuel tank wasn't very secure then, as I could wobble it around very easily.

The fuel tank is on the other side of the exhaust.

I think it's just the heat shield.
