Are you all sitting comfortably?........ then I'll begin;

Back in July I placed an order with a very large manufacturer for my next company car as my old car (Civic 2.2 GT cdti) was due for changing the first week in November.

Not naming names but here's a little clue, they have the following in there badge, a W and a V (these may not be in the correct order for identity reasons). I recieved a phone call about 3 three weeks ago saying that the "mystery Manufacturer" has updated its ordering system and my order has been deleted.

I thought, okay, thats not good but lets just re-do the order........................ not as simple as that, the words from the guys at the garage, "Because it's a lease car I would pretty much be put to the back of the waiting list again" He wasn't wrong, my new PROPOSED date was now April 2011!!

So a July 2010 order to a April 2011 PROPOSED delivery ............. What would you guys have done?......................

Yep, I went to Peugeot, had a little test drive of the RCZ hdi GT and fell in love. Couldn't of asked for a better Sales guy, answered all my questions he showed me what he had available, he had one HDi in which was going on show, yes it was slightly different to the one I wanted but it was close enough so I put my name on it.

It's now been taken out of the showroom ready for me to collect next week.

So what's gone from being the lowest part of my life when it comes to getting a new car to probably the best, can't believe I never even considered the RCZ in the first place.

I travel the length and bredth of the UK due to my job so hopefully will get chance to see other owners on my travels.

All the very best guys (and gals)

Hi Beefburga and welcome to the forum :greetings-wavingblue: . Excellent result but what a carry on at that other place!!! Some people on this forum have had to wait eons for their RCZ due to changing their specifications too but I'd not realised the problem had spread to other manufacturers. Seems the more complicated an order the less likelihood of getting it when you want it :( . Anyway, their loss is definitely your gain...you'll love your RCZ once you get it and it looks likely that that will be very soon. Post some pics once you're a proud owner

I suspect that the car company who cannot be named for legal reasons actually realised that you'd prefer an RCZ and were kindly giving you a gentle nudge in the right direction. An excellent result (in my opinion)...welcome.

Great to meet you beefburga! You'll enjoy the Forum, it's great fun & with great people on it to offer their experiences good or bad (there wont be many bad)!

What a run-around you've had, but as the saying goes "what will be will be", in other words, that RCZ obviously had your name on it from day 1.

Welcome to the forum beefburga :greetings-wavingblue:

What a messing around. Seeing as though they had deleted your order, the best they could have done was to try and put you further up the queue - it was hardly your fault.

But every cloud has a silver lining and boy, let me tell you, the RCZ has a gold lining  You certainly will not be disappointed. The car is fantastic. It will be the best decision you ever made.

Out of interest what model were you going for with the "other" manufacturer :?:

It was nothing special, Scirocco GT 170bhp with 19" lugana alloys, Bury hands free kit (after market).

To be fair, the Scirocco is a great looking car but I'm seeing more and more out on the road, in the last month I've seen 2 RCZ's.

Can anyone answer me a simple question?, why does time go slower when your waiting for something?.

Your not wrong there, just can't believe how the RCZ could have slipped under my radar.

My first ever car was an Escort XR3, and I smiled averytime I got in it, I just know it's going to be the same with the RCZ, except this time I won't be wearing a shell suit

You know what?, I never even looked at it that way...........

Note to self: Send thank you card to Man in garage that can't be named.
