weird battery terminals

never seen a car with neg terminal completely hidden and a weird flip clip on the positive. Haven't messed with it yet , any trick to taking connector off and why does the RCZ have a layout like this?

If I parked up for months and disconnect to save battery draining would it damage anything other than losing the radio stations and clock time?

Why not put your RCZ on a trickle charge and the negative points are on the front of the cars body there are two one each side of the bonnet catch...

Just wait until you want to replace the battery with a new one and realise you have to dismantle half the engine bay to do it!
