.....short list was Kuga, focus 185 ecoboost, megane 250 cup or RCZ.....

That's quite a wide range of differing cars.
Depends upon your daily needs / uses to determine your final choice.

Would agree that out of the list, the RCZ would also be my choice (unsurprisingly)

The HDi's are pretty much bullet proof! Very few have given any members on here any trouble.

Been looking for a "200" in Sheffield. Low miles and mint. Cash. White referred.
Getting scared off by all the faults the forum members report. Are they really this unreliable ?
Cheers
Bought a brand new 200 back in 2012 with the full feline kit, best car I have ever had, still smile when I drive it. A few minor teething problems which the dealer sorted with no hassle. Just buy and enjoy. Biggest problem is the amount of money I have lost on it, looking at changing but the amount I am been offered is rubbish, absolute mint condition and only 12 thousand miles. But thats new cars for you, you always loose money as soon as you drive them off the forecourt.

I took my time deciding, had a ferrific head vs Heart battle, my heart won but my head has no regrets. Love the car, can't believe how lucky I am, take the plunge and as Donna says don't rule out the diesel it's a great drive.

Hi there I had the same dilemma as you , and also asked the same questions on the forum before I bought one ,I bought a 61 plate thp 156 gt in charcoal gray 17000 mls and after having it for less than a week noticed the timing rattle , took it to peugeot dealer who swiftly changed the timing tensioner and related parts under warranty , which I was disappointed with it getting done so soon after purchase , but saying that I wouldn't Change it for the world , best looking car on the road by far , a great drive I work with 300 blokes and it's the best car in the car park , lots of jealous stares lol,,I've had it 7 wks now and no more problems ,, just starting to do a few mods ie kn filter ,,full quad exhaust going on in November then a remap ,,, just buy it you won't regret being the envy of all the everyday boring car drivers on the road , enjoy Alan
