Vertically Challenged Drivers

Hi,

I am new to this forum and have a question for you RCZ owners who are more vertically challenged than others. I quite like the look of the RCZ and am toying with the idea of getting one later this year. Two days ago I paid a visit to my local Peugeot dealer who had one on his forecourt. This was a 2010, 1.6 156bhp petrol engine one, cloth upholstery and a handle on the side of the drivers seat to raise the seat up and down. The problem that I have is that I am only 5ft 4ins tall (my wife is barely 5ft) and even with the drivers seat as high as it would go I could not see any of the bonnet without stretching my neck up. The car that I would like to get is the 200bhp petrol model that comes with electric seats and my question to other drivers of similar height to me is do the electric seats go any higher and if not are you aware of any mods that can raise the drivers seat so that I can see the bonnet. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Car designs are becoming more so you can't see the bonnet. Something to do with aerodynamics and style.
The last car I was able to see the bonnet from was a Peugeot 405 back in 1998.
I'm 6ft 1in and in a comfortable position I can't see the bonnet.

You could always get the GT model, as that will come with front parking sensors.

I'm 5'3 and don't have my seat in the highest position, in fact I'd say I'm probably mid way between the highest and lowest setting. I can't recall owning any car where I've been able to see the end of the bonnet or boot for that matter. I'm pleased to report that I also have never redesigned the front or rear of any of my cars.

Can I claim the record for the shortest wife? She is 4 foot nine and a half inches. She's only driven my RCZ once but was fine driving it. I've got the 156THP GT model. She's just a bit nervous about driving it as I said to her that she mustn't kerb the wheels - I only got the car on 1st May. She uses her Suzuki Cappuccino all the time - which is just about a small a car as you can get.

My two daughters are 5'2" and they are fine in the back despite some road tests saying that the back seats are only suitable for six year olds! One daughter did bang her head on the back window when I went over a speed bump too fast.

If your family are all under 5'2" I can recommend the RCZ as a very practical car. With the back seat folded down you can also get a lot of stuff in the back.
