Re: Spare Wheel. IT FITS IN WELL
HI guys, I did a small survey of availability of a Continental 235/40/19 96w in my local area. The top 4 on the list are national chains and the bottom 3 independent. I have been using Ledger tyres for many years, this is how it went.
1st Charlie Browns. No stock, 24hr delivery £270 fully fitted.
2nd Kwik Fit. No stock, 24hr delivery £240 fully fitted.
3rd National Tyres. No stock 24hr delivery £280 fully fitted.
4th ATS Euromaster. No Stock 24hr delivery £244 fully Fitted. (4 in stock at 2 other depots)
5th Manor Tyres. No stock 24hr delivery £227 fully Fitted.
6th Tyre Torque. No stock 24hr delivery £No price Computer Crashed.
7th Ledger Tyres No stock new tyre by 2pm (wrong size) 24hr delivery £235 fully fitted. (Repaired my puncture in 10mins with plug)
Continental had 1 tyre on the computer.
Once the tyre filler supplied in the compressor by Peugeot is injected the tyre has to be scrapped. What do you do if the tyre has been shredded or have split the sidewall? The mousse will not work in that instance. What if you are away from home? It’s going to be 24hrs minimum before you even get a tyre. You’ll have to spend the night in the car, take to a Motel/Hotel or B+B. What if the tyre that is delivered is the wrong size; this is what happened to me.
Nearly all the tyre depots said that it is common for manufacturers not to supply a spare or even a space saver tyre. :helpme:
