Good news. Was the purchase of both the wheel and jack through the agent? Can I ask the total cost?

Regards

Hi bugia,19ins Soltice,with budget tyre
Alloy £343.08 Tyre £109.58 Vat £79.22 Total £531.88
Smelling salts included!.
Consider if you get a puncture £250 for continental tyre,i feel its worth it.
RCZ jack £30 from dealer.I spent £27000 on car so what the hell!
Best wishes Davie.

would it not have been better to get a continental tyre instead of budget tyre as in the long run chances are you will use it ? for all the extra cost

I understand now bit scary no contis in country just though if you bought conti now when it came to replacing front tyres you would only have to buy one and use one of the old ones as a spare

Good job there!

So is there a secure location for the jack, wrench, locking nuts and inflator to be situated?

Since it looks like all the existing foam has to be removed.

According to dealer, this is the jack for the RCZ,it is easy to use and fits the jacking points, lifts the car quickly, bought a half ins telescopic wrench from TK Max £6.95,works well.
I would think any quality jack with a grroove will suit.

I have wrapped the jack, wrench, locking nut in a waterproof roll, that i use for kneeling on,same for the commpressor, fits snugly back of boot.

Sealey do a 1.5 tonne scissor jack for £9.95 which has the slot to fit under our cars, certainly Demon Tweeks have them at that price, you might get it cheaper if you shop around, also you can get hold of a telescopic wheel wrench (made by Laser) which as a 17mm & 19mm socket with it (we need 17mm) from Scewfix for £7.38 - I've got one of these and makes light work of removing your nuts :wtf:

Hope this helps.

If you have got a 30 bob car get a 30 bob jack.

Re: Spare Wheel. IT FITS IN WELL

It's the first time I've had the RCZ called a 30 bob car, to be honest you will never get a good deal on this type of product from any car manufacturer, the Sealey jack is rated to 1.5 tonne which is more than suitable for the RCZ and any saving made on buying a very expensive spare wheel is a bonus.

Any way I've got one from Toyota.

Re: Spare Wheel. IT FITS IN WELL

HI guys, I did a small survey of availability of a Continental 235/40/19 96w in my local area. The top 4 on the list are national chains and the bottom 3 independent. I have been using Ledger tyres for many years, this is how it went.
1st Charlie Browns. No stock, 24hr delivery £270 fully fitted.
2nd Kwik Fit. No stock, 24hr delivery £240 fully fitted.
3rd National Tyres. No stock 24hr delivery £280 fully fitted.
4th ATS Euromaster. No Stock 24hr delivery £244 fully Fitted. (4 in stock at 2 other depots)
5th Manor Tyres. No stock 24hr delivery £227 fully Fitted.
6th Tyre Torque. No stock 24hr delivery £No price Computer Crashed.
7th Ledger Tyres No stock new tyre by 2pm (wrong size) 24hr delivery £235 fully fitted. (Repaired my puncture in 10mins with plug)
Continental had 1 tyre on the computer.
Once the tyre filler supplied in the compressor by Peugeot is injected the tyre has to be scrapped. What do you do if the tyre has been shredded or have split the sidewall? The mousse will not work in that instance. What if you are away from home? It’s going to be 24hrs minimum before you even get a tyre. You’ll have to spend the night in the car, take to a Motel/Hotel or B+B. What if the tyre that is delivered is the wrong size; this is what happened to me.
Nearly all the tyre depots said that it is common for manufacturers not to supply a spare or even a space saver tyre. :helpme:

Re: Spare Wheel. IT FITS IN WELL

I would get the car picked up by the breakdown service and recovery it to home.

To be honest if the situation occurs then I'll worry about it.
