Update on our RCZ

Thought I would post this info for you guys who have ordered an RCZ and are patiently awaiting delivery as I always want to know how long it has taken for other people to receive their RCZ, so that I could estimate how long it would take until I receive mine.

Ordered Opal White 156 Sport on 5th June.

Told it would take approx 8 - 12 weeks.

Received build date on 5th August, told it would be 11th/12th Sept.

Phoned dealer on 10th August to check build date is still the same. Was told that it was already built! It was actually built on 8th Sept. (Would have been nice to have been informed!).

Phoned dealer again today to be told that it is in the country and is expected at the dealership this Friday (17th Sept).

Not sure when we can pick it up yet as sales guy was not in today. Got to phone him tomorrow to arrange pick up. Hope we can have it this weekend!

Hubby saw a white RCZ on the road today and he said it looked fantastic.

Really excited and can't wait to pick it up.

Must say though that from date of order until now our sales guy has only ever phoned us once to give a "non" update despite saying he would be in touch every week even if it was to say that there is no change. The dealership even got an Opal White RCZ in their showroom a few weeks ago and our sales guy did not bother to phone us for us to have a look at what our car would look like, we only saw it cos we drove past. Am I expecting too much?????

I know I will love the RCZ and will forget how frustrating it has been to do all the chasing once I have the keys however I have not been impressed with the service received so far from dealership/sales guy.

Right now that little rant is off my chest, fingers crossed for weekend :D

 hi
I am one of the lucky ones
I get my bosses to buy me a car every 3.5 years
Guess what, the sales people in 7 previous purchases in the last 20 years, a total value of over £100,000 worth of sales, have been very poor and I doubt it will improve.
Basically the great salespeople, and they are those who care and understand and are not after a fast buck, will migrate to businesses which care for them and pay them what they deserve, car manufacturers rarely do.
Anyhow that's my major rant so I suggest if you get a good one tell us all.

Hi RCZDog,
You are not alone in your experience! This will be our first Peugeot and I have to say that the dealer has been very poor with regards to updating us with our purchase also.
My wife ordered her RCZ on 2nd June with an expected delivery date in Sept, we haven't received any calls from the dealer so we took a visit there earlier in the month and was told that it was going to be built on the 11th Sept (Opal White 156 Sport). So based on your info. my wife's car could be built and in the UK. I will phone the dealer today to get further info.

We have bought many new cars over the years from various manufacturer's and have they have always been proactive in terms of keeping us up to date with everything.

Just wish I lived near Marcus from Perry's, where they really seem to give the service/customer care that you would expect from a large manufacturer.

I waited for mine, it only took 30 min max for the check to be done.

I have to say my experiences are similar, I ordered on June 28th and was given a build date (eventually) of 9th September, after not hearing for a while I rang the salesman to check and was told it had been put back to the 17th but it could move either way, have heard nothing since, so it looks like I will have to ring to check on the status again.
They do seem rather poor at keeping us informed of progress, ah well, I am sure when it arrives it will be worth the wait.

I wouldn't go so far as to say poor, but not great either. There's definitely a sense of being reactive rather than proactive about things. After I called them on Tuesday to ask about a delivery date he checked the inventory, and called it from the depot there and then before promising to ring back with an update yesterday. Not done, so looks like another call today to chase.

Hi RCZDOG

I feel exactly the same as you and I've experienced more or less the same as you.
I am bitterly disappointed with the communication from my dealer (or lack of it). I have had to do all the chasing with regards to information and I'm still waiting for my call to say when it will be at the dealers. I always feel like I'm intruding when I ring up or call at the dealers to find out anything.

It's really not good enough. :(

Wednesday is supposed to be the day that I get a call from my dealer. Last week was the first time in about two months where he called me without having to be chased. No call yesterday - but I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt, as yesterday was also my (delayed) build date.

As of yet, I've not heard anything today. Do you find that after a while you get fed up with chasing? If I don't hear from him today or tomorrow, I'm going to go and see him personally on Saturday

You having to chase seems to be a factor of modern customer service. I had an insurance claim to deal with (buildings not motor and I won't name and shame) and their incompetence and delay in following things up probably increased the claim by about £1,000 - and could have been far more without my chasing to get it sorted.

When I went to Silverstone on Sunday (which was a great day) - there were a lot of Peugeot dealers there. I spoke to quite a few of them and every single one said "the dealer should be calling you every week". So they all know - but it would appear that not all of them pratice what they preach.

Another thing that is aggrevating me is that another forum member (who I will not name for reasons that will become clear), took delivery of their new RCZ recently from the same dealer....and said how marvellous they were (and named them)!

I do find it strange how different customers of even the same dealer can get differing levels of service. You'd think they'd be consistent. Whether that's consistently bad or good!!

There is a very common theme running here that we feel poorly treated.

I will refrain from going off on another rant as I have said it all before on previous threads.

When I called Peugeots customer service number to complain the lady was so arrogant in that she actually said that the people complaining on this forum where just a minority few of several thousand happy Peugeot customers.

May be its because owners of other models do not have a forum to voice their frustrations on.

Peugeot need to get their act together I just hope that they do as it will affect us all in the long run.

I would like to add to your comments about Marcus who has enlightened me as to the myths of the ordering process & has been an excellent ambassador for Peugeot.

I would like to second your sentiments there GT RCZ. He has been really helpful on this forum and also when I have sent him a PM. If only all Peugeot dealers were like his !

I think the problem is that some dealers just do not understand the passion for the car, I think Peugeot themselves are somewhat gob smacked by the reaction they have received by customers old and new and have not really got themselves set-up to handle the demand, cetainly from a production point of view.

I will say as an owner for the past 7 weeks the car will out shine the situation you are currently experiencing, my advice is don't sit back I would / did phone the dealer 3 times a week and visited them every weekend, then the dealer will understand your passion, if you don't get answer kick his / her's arse, this is Peugeot's flagship car - as confirmed by Mark of Peugeot , so therefore you should be treated as a special case.

I hope this helps a little, all I'm saying it's worth the wait and the time and effort to push for answers.

Same person or same dealer? I suspect a lot of it is down to individuals - especially in sales and customer service.

Now that I don't know...but here's an update on my current situation.
My dealer has just rung me with an update. Bear in mind that order was placed in May. Now I know that I ordered the smoked roof arches and that is the main reason for the delay. Original estimated delivery date late August. At the end of August I was given a build date of 15th September.
He's just informed me that my build date has been pushed back to late October!!!

You cannot imagine how disapointed and frustrated I am. (Or perhaps you can).

I don't know if I'm being mucked about by the dealer, Peugeot UK or Peugeot France (or all 3). I can't believe they're all to blame.

Have now put in an official complaint with Peugeot UK who have promised me resolution (or at least a call back) within 3 working days. Dealer has also promised me a call back today as he is trying to sort something out.

Anybody have any other suggestions as to what I should do?

I hope you get a swift and satisfactory for you resolution.

That is really poor. I had a nightmare with Peugeot when I had ordered mine, although I ordered mine in janurary I was told I would definitely have it on the day it was released. That didn't happen and I got it in June. The dealer was sick of the sight and sound of me, and probably still is as my problems continue. I found that I Would go to me dealer with things I had seen or heard on the Internet and they were non the wiser. Even the other day I mentioned the brake recall to then and they hadn't got a clue that there was one! Now, the dealer is only as good as the information They receive and this is where I think the problem lies. Peugeot don't talk to it's dealers and give them this info. I write about a 7page letter to hq uk and got a pretty prompt reply. They couldn't change what happened to me but did compensate me for my problems. This is what I would suggest to you, keep bugging them for info and stick with it. I know there are delays for various customisations and October isn't that far away. The car is amazing, worth holding out for. I heard that production for the next batch of pearl white cars has been out back to December! Although Peugeot have produced an amazing car, they are offering a poor service to some of it's customers who are spending a heck of a lot of money with them!

Can the dealer (or another dealer, or Peugeot) source you another car that's already built? (hopefully same or similar spec).

You''ve had a long wait, so surely they could help you out here (and it's not like they'll struggle to sell the car you ordered when it arrives)
