Hey folks

Due to collect my RCZ on Friday 19th, can't wait! Getting a dophin blue GT 200bhp although couldn't bear the waiting time to get the sat nav option, much as I fancied it.

Used to a golf GTI and I test drove the 160bhp RCZ so not sure how it will compare on nippyness. But it looks fantastic!

Anyone else from around Aberdeen?

Hi stroch and welcome to the forum :greetings-wavingblue: . Even the 156GT is really nippy...I changed from a 2L coupe and can't believe how much quicker the 1.6L engine is. I've seen one dolphin blue in the flesh and it looked lovely. Don't forget to post some pics once you're an owner  .

Hello Stroch and Welcome

My parents live in Carnoustie and I visit irregularly. Could you do me a favour? As I'm in Northamptonshire, won't get my car until the end of the month and my Dad doesn't have a computer could you pop down the coast and show them your car please? He's having trouble working out what an RCZ looks like :!:

Cheers

Dave

Hi Stroch and welcome to the forum! Am Scottish but committed the cardinal sin of marrying an English man and have been banished from our beautiful (wet) country! Take some lovely RCZ pics with the mountains in the backround for me :greetings-wavingblue:

yep, got it. Wow! Despite the high expectations, it was bigger, more curvaceous, and with a much better interior than I rememberd from the test drive. The garage had it cloaked up when I arrived - which I thought was nice touch - and when it was uncovered more and more things were impressing me: the wheels, the curved bodywork near the wheels, the silver finishes on the interior door handle and door frame matching the main arches; yikes and more. Even little things were impressing me, as I am not used to them: automatic headligths, automatic wipers, the rear view mirror which dims following cars' headights and the fact I effortlessly hooked up my blackberry. But I am most impressed by the satisfyijng, what do you call it, groan (I'm sure there's a better word) from the engine.
And indeed it is nippy. After driving a too old but nippy number until today I was hoping it would not be a step down - whether it be flooring it to 70 or pulling away at a roundabout. But I needn't have worried as it scores top marks on those counts. Did I say the sound was most impressive? Hmm I think that has to go with the double bubble. So unique so much better than a ubiquitous TT! The steering is different to what I'm used to - not worse, but it will just take some getting used to it so I don't zig zag around corners like a learner driver. And, of course, there's no back windsreen wiper. Not that I care, but I just hadn't thought how incompatable and therefore absent that would be with the double bubble. But still, blown away. I can't sleep.

Welcome to the 'Owners Club' membership   . I too miss the rear wiper but wouldn't swap the double bubble, I'm just getting used to not having one. I don't have that growl from the engine (something about a valve in the 200bhp engine makes the sound, nothing to do with the roof) but still absolutely LOVE my Freddie and those curvaceous lines! I was parked in a tight spot last night and deliberately went out of the play at the interval to move Freddie in case someone parked next to me did him damage!!! Enjoy your fab car and don't forget those pics.
