unable to disable bluetooth music

Hello,

I've bought a brand new RCZ GT Line 200 PK in September 2015.
It has an RT6 with firmware 2.86B on board.

I'm having an iPhone 6S as mobile phone.
It's paired with the system.
I have 2 issues:

1) The echo but I read about this here and lowering the sound helps
2) (And this is really something that is disturbing me a lot) When pairing the iPhone I have the choice between * telephone only * music only and * both.
I select telephone only but everytime the music is also activated. And with music activated I can't hear incoming sms, my iCoyote app .........

I tried also with an iPhone 6, but the same issue.
In my BMW it works fine so it should be something with the RT6.

Any idea?

Kind regards,
Gunther

Just a question but why would you need to know that you had a sms when driving. You can't read it.

I always have both selected and can usually hear when a sums comes in as the sound level drops slightly when it does come in. My iPhone lives in the arm rest.

As for the echo, I think this topic has been covered on here before. I seem to remember a calibration sorting the problem out, and this being done by the dealer.

Obviously, your car is covered by warranty, so a trip to the dealers is in the cards. Explain the problem to them, and ask if they could perform the calibration of your RT6 unit, and also perform any updates at the same time.

There shouldn't be any cost involved because of the age of the car.

I think if you are listening to music via Bluetooth there will be an audible sound or lowering of music to indicate a text/email/whatsapp but if you are listening to radio/cd or have the unit turned off you will not get a beep to indicate a text/email/whatsapp. The phone won't even beep neither. I presume it is to discourage the driver from being distracted.
