Yes, It's true..

Its my sons fault. We went out looking for his first car and came back empty handed. However one of the garages we visited had a black 10 plate RCZ. Probably only the 3rd or 4th time I have seen one. We sat in it - beautiful white leather stitching. I have loved the car since I first saw one, one dark winter night, some 3 years ago. Mysterious, and sultry. That was 5 weeks ago.

Anyway, bottom line - I went out two weeks ago, to view a 2.0 Diesel GT. Ended up buying it and collecting it today. traded in my Zetec White Sport Fiesta - shortest time I have ever owned a car (about 2 years). My wife was a bit shocked when I told her.

Our new RCZ, looks and drives incredible. It only just fits in my garage - I had to have help getting it in..(Tennis ball has been reset!)

Insurance was amazing - just £240 fully comp... that's about £20 more than the Fiesta. 3 years of monthly payments to make now, but not too painful, and well worth it.

What a nice looking car ! Now I have to work out how to stop dialing Herts council, which I have managed to unwittingly do 3 times via bluetooth. Guess I'll have to open the 200 page manual for this one.

Congratulations on the RCZ! Post some pictures if you can! :)
By the way, £240 for insurance is an incredible deal. I've receiving my new 2013 RCZ in August/September and am 26 years old (27 then) with about 5 years no claims bonus. I think I'll end up paying around £700 for my insurance... A friend of mine who's my age paid £900 for his new VW Golf 'R' for him and two other drivers. Not sure mine will be too far off. Unfortunately I'm not in the likes of the UK in terms of insurance competition here in Gibraltar.

So you have bought the 2.0 HDi GT the same as I have. I know that it is a great fun car to drive as well as to look at. What colour is it. White is right and Pearl is perfect  There isn't any bad colours as the RCZ looks amazing in them all.

I thought the black 10 plate was a different one to the one actually purchased.

Welcome to the forum Adam

You do indeed sound very smitten with the RCZ :) We would live to see pics of your car when you can manage to stop driving it.

By the way, what do you mean by adjusting the tennis ball ?

I bet it is a device either to let him know when to stop when putting the car in the garage, or to stop the car door from hitting the garage wall when open.

I have a curtain hook dangling from the ceiling in the garage. When it touches the windscreen I stop and the garage door can be closed without hitting the car.

Happiness is ...... owning an RCZ!

Ah right, got it

I have an old car mat stuck on the garage wall so I don't hit the wall when I open the car door. There's also a sticky out bit in the garage which I line my wing mirrors up with so I know I'm safely in. As you say, the joys of owning a RCZ lol

Welcome to the forum :) I can imagine how the conversation between you and your wife went down.

"Hello darling...I...uhm...well, you know how I went to view a car with the little'un?"

"Mmyeesss?"

"Well, I, errr, signed us up to a three year purchase plan and am driving home in a lovely Peugeot RCZ"

"Oh excellent, that will fit right in with my hairdressing profession!"

:p

Thank you for the warm welcome !

The car is now running well .... I say now - I had the dreaded DPF warning light, which came on every day straight for 8 days, about 30 seconds after ignition on..

I had it booked in for checking at the dealership, when strangely and suddenly whilst the car was idling, there was a very strong smell of burning, which lasted quite briefly. Ever since then, not a peep of warning light - so I guess the DPF filter cleared itself. I wonder if the short 'test' journeys before I bought it had not been too good for the filter. Mighty pleased its now OK. I have reset the MPG - with the issue it was sitting at 50.3, so I may get slightly better now.

I also found the great cleaning guide on this forum - I had no idea about any of this .. needless to say I have adopted best practice.

Yep, I will post pictures next..!

Yes - the tennis ball is my guide to stop going forward into the garage, hangs from the roof.

One other thing - my wife tried sleeping in the front seat on a late night back last week. "Its like a shopping trolley". I agreed, but smiled.
