Timing chain kit cost?

Hello chaps,

I suppose it's time to replace the timing chain kit as there's a rattling noise coming from the engine when cold.

I've been quoted £965 :shock: from my local dealer so looking to do this in an independent Peugeot specialist.

I am located in Chislehurst, South East London, any advise / suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, you shouldn’t really be paying more than £600 all in from a dealer you may possibly get it done independently for around £500. Try a mini specialist (same engine as cooper S).
My pug dealer did mine for £600 inc oil and filter change. Had my wife’s Mini Cooper S done at a mini specialist for £500 all in.
Shop around but make sure whoever does it is a specialist with good knowledge of this engine.
Suppose your going to pay a premium with being from London.

That's quite a big difference there, I wouldn't mind to do a few extra miles for that.

My dealer is Peter Ambrose at castleford West Yorkshire they did the full job in a day.

I ain't telling you who my dealer is but you can catch him Monday and Friday outside the chippy, cant miss him he's the one in the "huddie"...... :eusa-shhh:
