Hi guys

I'm thinking my chain will need changing soon (metal rattle on startup) and just wondered what people are currently playing. Dont want to get a dodgy quote and get ripped off.

AUD$1350 (you'll have to convert it to GBP) done by Peugeot - outstanding job - same day completion - don't risk it with a service centre that hasn't done them - there's a few crucial tricks to the tasks so it's worth keeping the parts genuine and using a Peugeot experienced mechanic. Don't leave it too long - out of step timing isn't good for the engine. Cheers ...

That's reasonable. Works out about £750 here. My local Peugeot dealer said about £1080

Misnomer? The tensioner can fool the owner into believing the Chain is causing the problem when in fact its the other way round mine did it twice first it was the water pump once replaced it still rattled so changed the tensioner & cured 2 known generic issues in 1 hit if your chain has gone to the limit 68mm stretch then you will get running issues normally the irregular timing starts to cause the major problems

Most good independent specialists should do the job for £400-£500 but some good dealers will do it for not much more mine came in at just under £600 from my local Peugeot dealer
