Ticking RCZ R brake discs

Hi guys,

My dealer said it was normal, but why not double check with the experts here :) When parking my car in the garage I can hear a loud ticking noise coming from the brakes. Is that normal? Does it indicate wear and tear? I can also hear my brakes when braking softly when I'm driving, so I want to make sure everything is just normal :D

Thanks!

The discs on the R are known to squeal and I think there was a recall on them to be replaced. Have a search on here and you will find more info. Ticking brakes sounds normal to me. It's just the discs cooling down after a hard run!

My 200 ticks especially after a hard run, like renegade said, it's just the metal cooling. :eusa-think:

There's something rather pleasing about getting out of the car and hearing the discs ticking over

When you get those R discs really working, and I mean, really working, they not only tick, but clonk and peng very loud. If someone is not used to it, they'd get scared. It sounds like someone hitting the discs hard with a piece of metal. The sound of speed and heat, haha.

You will have hard times to find any niggles and problems with the R :greetings-wavingblue:

Just a thought from experience and it applies to all brakes especially if you have driven it very hard: Ticking as in a metal sound when slowly braking and starting to move? If so, and the ticking is not present when you get out of the car and stand next to the wheel/brakes (it would tick for a bit while cooling if this is the case and not stop as soon as you exit the car), then check to make sure your wheel bolts are tight.
