THP200 Turbo to THP156 Turbo

honestly, frankly speaking, im offended!!!

just kidding with you. the day i get a THP156, i totally understand my limitation, the reason of me getting a THP156 is because of my lady here cant drive a stick, so to accomodate her, despite i am actually worried about her driving most of the time, i got the THP156.

i know its always a fun thing to drive with the stick, the joy of hearing the engine moan as you lower the gear and stuff. ohh yea.. :)

but nevertheless, like u, i wanna test the limit, how far will this baby go with just a THP156 engine before she gave up on me and of course,.. if ure in my country, u always expect the unexpected whenever ure on the road. :)

1. seat sport intercooler is bolt-on solution for thp156 - 6LL145804
2. turbo from 200thp differs from 156thp - it's not only more performant, because of it's form you should replace the radiator of 156thp by 200thp and some cooling pipes and air pipes.
3. turbo from 202thp of DS3Racing is bolt-on solution for 156thp with the same performance of 200thp

btw if you have automatic gearbox there is no sense to go for torque over 300nm, so just make a remap and panel filter.

Yeah there is a reason they never offered the 200 with an auto box...

I am very interested in a couple of things you have said here, no not questioning but if you are stating this then someone has done it, or has done enough research to be certain it is possible:

1. seat sport intercooler is bolt-on solution for thp156 - 6LL145804
Can you confirm that this has been done and tested (e.g. links to webpages)?
Is that a factory Seat part code?

3. turbo from 202thp of DS3Racing is bolt-on solution for 156thp with the same performance of 200thp
Again can you confirm?

If I can see this in more detail then I can research more and determine whether or not I can offer these possibilities to THP156 owners (yes I really want them to get over 200bhp if they can).

I have read that in various magazines so might be worth looking into. the DS3 has a fair bit less room than the RCZ so simply using the THP200 was a no no.

They already have the 156THP installed in the sport so they sourced a different turbo and free-d up the breathing and violla....200+bhp

Okay I will look into this. Which magazines showed this? I know Forge Motorsport does not make an inter-cooler for any other car that fits the THP156, and yes the THP200 will not work at all as it is a completely different unit, mounting, etc.

From our research and development with Forge is that the ECU in the RCZ is very sensitive to even little changes and the goal is always not to trigger any codes or lights that stay on requiring ECU modifications, no matter if it is a THP156, THP200 or HDI 160/163, this is the preferred result with any modifications.

There are also different variations of the 1.6l engine that you find in cars with this engine (Prince) and even then what works for one does not necessarily work for others, but we all hope their is cross-over.

If you find any other information, magazine articles I can look at etc., that would be great. In the mean time I will research this as I am always looking for more performance from any of the RCZ engines if it out there (as in readily available parts not one-off's). Once found I bring them to the attention of others on our site and page.

Thanks for sharing this :)

i already did mounted the intercooler on my car, changed the complete line of exhaust and added cold air intake.

1. http://etuners.gr/en/index.php?s=12&t=232 - intercooler guide, actually i didn't make any photos of my install, i fixed the IC in addition to front metal shock absorber with two metal plates, maybe later i'll make some photos of my own.
http://etuners.gr/en/index.php?s=12&t=12 - 207 mod
2. the 202thp turbo differs by the cold part - bigger wheel + bigger output for air, actually it's the same turbo from 207rc (175hp), there are a lot of conversions of DS3 with that mod. You can get 220hp with this turbo and mild remap. I already posted dyno of ~280hp pug207rc with this turbo from my country, but the engine was almost at the edge + it had water injection to decrease T.

some photos of my mods, sorry for dirty car, but i need it to be fast, not clean.

exhaust line + intercooler pipings by local garage, fmic by seat, air intake by forge.

you don't need ds3r or 207rc turbo from ep6dts or ep6cdts engine - you have automatic gearbox, it limits your torque to 300-310nm, you can get it with any remap and panel filter.

remaps for the Z in my country is kinda .... non-existant, so i cant anyhow bring to a remap shop, as i fear they might do more damage than harm.

so maybe i should just look at new gearbox set and new turbo.... lol

new turbo without remap will give you only problems. in your case just buy a new panel filter - kn, green or whatever you can find, but not the cheapest sponge

Re: THP200 Turbo to THP156 Turb o

Here in brazil we only have 165hp with automatic gearbox...
the price? about R$140.000 (reais) or 42.601 euros

I cant get more power (about 200cv with remap, filter ,exhaut ) the gearbox doesnt support

i want the rcz r but brazilian peugeot will not import ..

its hard be a brazilian

thanks .

you should limit the torque not the power with your remap. limit the torque to 290-300Nm and your gearbox will be fine.

Hello guys, I'm join here to share some infos.
I'm from Brazil like Roberto, we share some experience with ours THP. I've a 308 THP with the same engine and gearbox of Roberto's RCZ, here we only have 165hp engine always with auto gear box.

I read some post before that the limit of torque is 300nm, I reached 297nm and I'm not happy yet.

My setup is:
- Dastek Unichip.
- Milltek downpipe.
- K&N box filter.

My next step:
- Seat Cupra Intercooler (I bought AVA ST4040 - 369-369-50).

- Full Magnaflow exhaust (ressonator and muffer).

- New unichip setup.

I hope and wish more than 200hp, my target is 220hp with about 330nm, the main question, my auto gearbox will fault? I don't know, in a few days we will have news.

About THP200 turbocharger, it's very very interesting, our 165THP use KKK03, someone know which turbo THP200 uses?

i had ds3 with 156thp, no mechanical mods only panel filter, etuners remap to 190hp/335nm, but the gearbox was manual, i did 30k km and sold it. the dealer of etuners says that 300nm is absolutely safe for automatic transmission. go for 320nm! by the way i recommrnd to change the exhaust tubes to 63mm diametr, now you have only 51mm.
