I'm loving it but I can see how it would put some people off.
I rewatched Jay Emms review on youtube (
) and I have to say the bit where he criticised the lack of explosive acceleration, I feel, missed the point slightly. If you look at this as a sport grand tourer rather than a pure sports car it makes sense to dull the bite slightly. My wife has a 2007 Polo GTi (cup tune) that is far more aggressive despite having 80hp less (and 200kg lighter) and quite frankly, going for a big send in it can be terrifying because it squirms and wriggles and just does not feel anywhere near as planted or unflustered as the RCZ R.
I will, however, agree it does get 'jiggly' on a poor surface which is not the most comfortable feeling but certainly, IMO, no worse than say a Golf R or TTRS
My biggest complaint though, is the fact that every time I take the bloody thing out I see another RCZ in town! So far, in the two weeks I've had it, I have taken it out four times when I have been shopping and have seen a Carbon Red edition, a white HDI, a black Sport and a red GT! I wouldn't mind but I live in Chichester, which can hardly be considered a heaving metropolis. Half the reason I bought it was that I hadn't seen one in years and now four in ten days: where are they all coming from suddenly?
On another note, my CarPlay adapter turned up from Ali Express today, so standby for a fitting tale ( after I have trawled the forum for advice of course)
