The eve of a monumental day!

I sit here (nervously) on the eve of a monumental day in my country's history. I'm not going to air my political views and most of us are getting pretty tired of it flooding our book of face newsfeeds up in Scotland. All I ask is that you consider carefully both sides of the argument and vote...just make sure you vote the right way. ;)

To be fair, you have more immediate and pressing concerns!!

I've lost count of the sleepless nights I've had. Resulting in toothache due to teethclenching when I do sleep. Sure sign of stress. I'm no great politics follower but this has really shaken me up. I can forsee a late night tomorrow watching the results.

I kinda wish I had opted for a postal vote so I could have got it all out of the way weeks ago.

One thing is for sure, Friday will be the same sh*t, different day. Whatever the outcome, Scotland will need to embrace change.

Hahaha!! I taught politics on a day to day basis so this is has been a huge part of classroom discussions every day.

One way or the other, Scotland is going to change...and so is the political landscape. Looking at this objectively, the yes campaign stand to gain more either way that the chips fall. Either independence will be granted or Scotland's legislative powers will be significantly increased. It's the Better Together campaign that will have to make the most significant concessions.

However, it's hard to see how the SNP can continue to gain such strong support if their independence dream is spurned. It underpins all of their politics so, if it is rejected, then they're going to have to reinvent themselves.

I'm more than a little anxious about tomorrow and we should know the outcome by breakfast time in Friday. GULP!

im a little miffed that having been born and raised in the highlands i don't get a say because i chose to serve my country and along with my wife (who is still in the armed forces) got posted south of the border.

meanwhile some 16 year old who only moved to Scotland last year gets to have a say on the future of the land i call home. :x

rant over.

I've decided I had to put myself through a further 10hrs of so of torture...not voting until this evening. I'm sure the queues at Udny Station won't be miles long! Surely I'll manage to cast a vote without being turned away.......

I'm going to wait until after tea. Don't think that I'll sleep tonight. Expected declaration time is 0630 - 0730!

Yep think it'll be a dram, early night and early alarm call to hear the result.

I might just not go to bed. I'm off tomorrow and Monday and my entire plan for tomorrow consists of detailing the car ahead of a VXR mega meet in Perth with 100 fellow connoisseurs of automotive excellence. ;)

Irish TV are reporting that Aberdeen will be the last count centre to declare results and that by 7.30am the overall result will be known. I am amazed at how close the campaign is. I am also amazed at how little is known about the possible implications of either result. Typical politicians - never tell you like it really is!!

Can 17 year olds vote in Scotland??

you have to wonder what would a 16 year old know about politics? :eusa-think:
you have to be 18 to vote here.
