It's not a lot different to the recent scandal over the Free Range eggs that weren't, in fact they were Battery eggs shipped in from abroad and deliberately miss labelled. The supermarkets will blame the supplier, however if they paid the supplier a fare price for their product then we may see less of the suppliers resorting to devious practices to remain in business.

Other than the misrepresentation I don't see the problem with eating horse meat.
They should make some 100% horse meat burgers, but they'd probably end up being 20% beef.

Honestly though, hoof-eels the mane issue is that the press was just trying to stirrup trouble. Maybe it's time someone stud up and said something before the food market becomes de-stable.
