Tents / Gazebo

Having been reading up on various sealants / polishes, etc. a common theme appears to be not to apply in direct sunlight as I clean the car on the drive this is going to be a bit tricky unless I do it at night by candle light whilst this would finally convince the neighbours that my cheese has finally slipped off the cracker it is not that practical :D . Does anyone on here use any form of tent / gazebo to cover the car for this purpose and if so any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers
Nick

Why not just polish it in the early evening or on an overcast day (we have plenty of those in the UK)? Just don't do it while the sun is beating down on you in high summer and you'll be fine - no specialist polishing tent or gazebo required!

You could move to Yorkshire, it's never sunny here on days ending in Y :eusa-think:

It's not sunny here at the moment debating whether to buy a canoe just in case, polishing in the evening is a possibility but also I want to be able to protect the coating until it hardens. Also as I need to wash / clay / polish then coat twice and so it would be easier not to try and work out how long to allow. Plus we appear to have version of the winged feathered things here that look for people polishing cars and just at the point you finish proceed to carry out a bombing run.

cheers

I apply coatings and always do it outside as don't have the space to do it undercover. If you plan it in accordance with the weather forecast, when it's going to be overcast, not too hot, and with no rain forecast. Do all your prep work on one day ie washing, claying, polishing etc then early the next day (but not if dew is around) apply the coating - then it has enough time to cure too and won't get wet before its had time to cure.

I do this with both our cars. The OH's is outside 24/7 and I've never experienced any problems with the coatings.

Will give it a go but you obviously have better weather forecasts than we do in Gloucestershire as the other morning the television forecast announced it was going to be sunny and so did the app on my phone and I was sat there watching the rain run down the window :D
