At last, I now have the keys to the new R.

Well, what can I say. Its love at first drive. Why aren't there more of these cars on the road??? (Not that I'm complaining about that). Its quick, feels premium, looks superb, seats are the best I have travelled in, and oh my god those wheels are wide. Never really appreciated how wide the tyres were until I parked it on lock. No wonder this thing just corners without any kind of fuss. Sounds fantastic................am I preaching to the converted?????

Any gripes?? Well I had a very annoying squeak/vibration in what I first thought was the door panel. Turned out to be the seat. I had it set as low as it could go. I clicked the height lever one notch and....silence. Easy fix and didn't even notice height difference.

oh yes....I made a discovery after it had been raining and I decided to open the boot. Yep, all the water runs straight into the boot compartment. Any suggestions except having a cloth ready. I can't imagine this is going to do the boot carpet much good over a period of time.

Looks stunning

Rain - boot - yeah, they do that. I think it's a design feature :eusa-think:

Beautiful, ever so slightly jealous

Re the boot, when you open it lift it slowly a few inches and let the accumulated water run slowly away then it won't all pour into the boot. Bit of a design flaw in all rcz's not just the R but a minor one

Thank you thank you thank you.

Words cannot describe how much I love this car. I feel ever so slightly smug with myself........is that bad??????

Thanks for the rain/boot tips. It was just kinda funny at the time, it had been raining lots, had a bit of xmas shopping in the boot. Then I had a bit of very wet xmas shopping in the boot. Anyone know how much the boot nets are that stop everything flying about the mammoth space?????

You should have one already - check under the boot tray (where the spare wheel isn't!).

For me, the R is one of the rare cars where I just jump in for the fun of driving it. I also drive a lot other cars. And few rentals too. But they are just usual cars, boring, predictable, none existing feedback from the road, just boxes on 4 wheels.
But not the R. Each time I get into it, it makes me smile.

I think you feel just alright about yourself :greetings-wavingblue:

If you haven't got a net, let me know as I think I have a spare.

Update on the boot net, I seem to have found one in a bag underneath the boot floor lining, so all good. But thanks for the offer RCZ1, I appreciate it.

Hey cool, how to make Christmas that little more special. Be warned, it's addictive. Put 350 miles on mine in the first two days, just because I couldn't bear to get out of it!

Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Hi and congrats your car looks great!
I've just purchased a genuine RCZ boot liner their plastic but have what seems like a rubber coating not only do they stop the boot carpet getting wet but I've found that things don't slide about anymore so no need for the net!
Cost me a very reasonable £58 from my local pug dealer.
Good luck and enjoy!

The R is a fantastic car, had mine close to 2 years now, normally only use her on " special " occasions, like going to Wales, a planned trip around Scotland etc, I have a new 306 150 HDI for the legwork of everything else ;)

I agree with you Tony1968, I'm loving the car so far. A trip to the welsh roads had already crossed my mind. i'm still staggered at the wet weather grip levels in this car. The thing feels so planted I think my bottle will run out before the grip does.

I think I have made it rain today.........Just washed and dried the car. 5 minutes later its wet again!
