tailgate spoiler motor loaction

on the standard RCZ is the motor for the spoiler housed on the tailgate lid?
I have the R version with the fixed spolier - yet this still has the indent on the tailgate liner (for what i assume is the rear spoiler motor).
Seams a massive waste of space if its not required - or does it have some other useage!

Surely you didn't expect Peugeot to engineer and produce an entirely new liner for such a thing when they could just reuse the same one for no extra cost, did you?

may have to get a scrappers one and see if i can strengthen it in some way to use as an additional storage bin. if there is nothing under it. ( dont like wasted space lol)
