Suspension knocking

Just taken delivery of a pre-registered (June '15) RCZ 156 with 18" alloys. Firm ride, but on rough roads and at sub-30mph speeds get a very definite knocking from the suspension. Even more pronounced if doing 5mph over cobbles! The normal heavy thudding from the firm suspension I can live with. Sounds like a strut bottoming out, but can't believe anything should be loose or worn on the suspension.

Is this normal for the firm ride?

As the car is brand new, it's a no brainer, straight back to the dealer, test drive with a mechanic in the car & get it sorted FOC.

I had similar issues, it turned out there was a notice from Pug advising a modified top mount be fitted to the front struts. Had this done & all has been well since.

Hope you get it sorted. :eusa-think:

Thanks for the prompt reply. Was the notice from Pug recently? ie would a 2015 manufactured car not have already had the modified mount fitted?

I would have expected a 2015 car to have the modified mounts, mine is a 2013. I have learned over the years however, that sensible and cars does not always follow.
Your problem sounds exactly the same as mine, so it's at least worth asking the question at the dealers.

If your has the modification as standard, then they need to look to see what is causing the problem. Better to have it sorted sooner rather than later just in case whatever it is could be damaging other components if not rectified

Just because the car was registered in 2015 doesn't necessarily mean it was built in 2015. Get it back to the dealers and get them to sort it - it's what the warranty is there for after all.
