Superchips Remap 200THP

Hi all,

Not posted for a while but always check the site every couple of days.
My Z is 14 months old now with 12,800 miles on the clock. Was thinking about having a Superchips remap done.
Anyone had this done already, how does the car feel, any concerns etc and should I only use the 98 unleaded fuel if I go ahead?
Would be great if you could share your thoughts etc, also how much increase did the remap put on your insurance?

Cheers,

Paul....

I've had my re-map about 18 months now, no issues. By habit, I use super unleaded but occasionally the cheap stuff. The only real difference I've found is mpg. My trip computer reported about 52mpg on a recent trip from London to Carlisle with shell nitro but 48mpg on the way back with Sainsburys own brand. Same basic route - M6/M1.

I believe Stephen had an additional 'tweak' done but found it upset some of the sensor readings and occasionally gave a warning. Not sure, but I think he may have reverted to the 'standard' re-map.

Did any of you gents do an after dyno with the chip. One of our local guys (runnings DP and Intake) with a plug and play chip actually lost 20 odd NM...

We have our car remapped but because we are running several other modifications (exhaust, intercooler, etc.) our remap is slightly aggressive but the result is 250+ bhp. Previously we had a turbo hose collapse that caused a CEL for over-boost, but that has been sorted. We will be doing a couple of other things to our car to get up to 260bhp but that is it, wouldn't go any higher due to engine reliability.

We run only BP Ultimate. MPG isn't really tracked by us. Even a mild remap can give you a better power curve where you need it most as in during passing.

A remap is programmed your specific car and what has or has not been done to it. Plug-in chips, such as the RaceChip module we sell, are good out-the-box if you have done a filter change. When you do more stuff to the car such as exhaust or intake, you will need to tweak the module and we recommend this be done through a tuning shop so that they can monitor and adjust to its optimum.

Sometimes changes to the air and exhaust flow can counter-act the performance of the engine, and so performance enhancements to the car should be checked as being the best set-up for the best results. We have vast experience with what is best and doing more in the future.
