Styling advice wanted.

Cheers all and thanks for the friendly welcome. Slight change of plan. picked up a black RCZ last week but have decided not to change the styling due to warranty issues. I enquired about the quad exhaust at the main dealer but they are no longer available as a dealer option and if I have it done elsewhere it will invalidate the warranty so it looks like the only thing I will be changing is the name on the log book. :lol:

Ask your dealer if you get the quad-exhaust from the manufacturer that made it for Peugeot and your dealer installs it, like Peugeot did with the Feline package, if they would still cover the warranty of the exhaust or not.

If they are open to this then contact us as we sell that exhaust system, yes the same one that Peugeot sold.

Alternatively they can buy it from us as we have sold many to dealers already due to a request from their customer.

When I was buying mine I asked the dealer if I changed anything eg exhaust backbox to a quad system what would be covered.
They said only the part changed would not be covered.
So if only back box was changed then the rest of the system would still be covered.
But as warranties are main dealer organised check with them.

I really cannot see how any dealership can quibble over a feline exhaust being fitted, even more so if it is fitted by a Peugeot dealership. How can they supply and fit an item and then say that the same item could invalidate a warranty just because they no longer supply that item? It's not as though they stopped for any reason other than they had supplied all of the ones that they were contracted to purchase :crazy:

Well i bought a Zunsport Quad tip and asked dealer to fit it. They refused saying they would only fit parts they had ordered. Excuse being it might have got damaged on its way to me and if they fitted it they would be liable if things went wrong with the car.Pointed out it was originally a pug option but still wouldnt move on it. Will see if i have a warranty claim and what they come up with.

Well, I had a feline kit fitted by Peugeot but had a few issues with the quad exhaust. The car went in to a Peugeot dealership to fix the issue (which the forum managed to diagnose as being a worn heat wrap after the dealership drew a blank). The dealership (under the guidance of Peugeot) originally refused to repair it under warranty. In fact they refused to repair it even if I was to be paying and told me that they would have to revert the system to the original one (at cost to me). After lengthy conversations with a service manager in Peugeot HQ in Coventry (who I had previously dealt with), they did agree to cover the cost of repai but only after the issue was diagnosed here and I went to quite some lengths to contact Zunsport and get a replacement part. Zunsport were excellent and even provided the wrap free of charge. One cautionary word, Peugeot told me that the original contract had been fulfilled and that they had no agreement nor capacity to source parts nor repair these. Their "solution" is to replace the entire system and this is not covered under warranty as it's seen as wear and tear. Just something to be aware of!!

Well this is what Peugeot Group said back in 2012 when I raised the question of repair/replacement

RCZ Quad Exhaust.

As previously posted the 'Feline' quad exhaust kit is no longer listed within the Peugeot RCZ range of accessories.

In the eventuality of the need for a replacement under warranty or indeed as a result of accidental damage Peugeot UK is in a position to respond to such demand.

I realise that Ron and I did relay that to them. However, as you are aware, my situation occurred this year and the response that I detailed came directly from the head honcho of customer service at Peugeot HQ only months ago. It appears that the landscape has changed I'm afraid.

Yep. We are no longer as important to them as we once was. Peugeot appear to be rather fickle

I am presuming that Pug dropped the Zunsport for a reason?But if they fitted it at the beginning it must be covered under warranty.I notified my insurance that i had it ftted and they said it would not be covered.. and had the cheek to increase my premium.So they wouldnt cover it, yet put my premium up?When i pointed it out they said it would make the car more desirable to steal.I said ok but its only the back pipe that has been replaced so the rest of exhaust is still original and that should be covered?The girl i spoke to, knowing it would be recorded said she couldnt answer that.So i reckon wait till warranty is up after 3 years and then fit it.I would certainly challenge any warranty claim i made that had nothing to do with the exhaust.Say a wheel bearing or whatever,This particular mod makes no difference what so ever to performance. Its just an embellishment and should be treated as such. N.B..insurance co is Admiral multicar, for the forum to take note.

This is what Peugeot said back in February 2012

The quad exhaust was a feature of the Feline Kit which was fitted to a limited volume of RCZs. At the same the opportunity was taken to procure a volume of the quad exhausts to be put into stock and included within the RCZ accessory offer. Demand for the quad exhaust has ultimately outstripped the forecasted demand and as a result this stock has now been exhausted. Currently no re-supply is planned, so the Kit has at this time been removed from the accessory listings.

Also many members on here have declared these including myself for no additional premium. These are cosmetic and add no performance gains.

Admiral are the outfit that ripped me off by claiming that I had not declared my car had been modified, I explained that the car has not been modified simply that it has factory fitted optional extras and the car is exactly how was the day I drove it out of the Peugeot Dealership. I wouldn't ever use Admiral again :thumbdown:

The contract with Zunsport was only for 500 units to be produced to be sold by Peugeot. After that contract was fulfilled Zunsport was to be allowed to sell the units themselves. This is what both Zunsport and Peugeot told me anyway.

I think Zunsport Quads must have been some prob for Pug as what must have been a nice little earner. Am a right in thinking that it was something like a 600 quid option?No one drops an item for no reason.

This is what I send to any new insurance company.

I am writing to you to inform you of the various Optional Extras that I chose for my car. They were all supplied by Peugeot prior to me taking delivery. I mention them as I answered NO to the question about modification as I do not believe the car has been modified. It is as it was the day that I took ownership of it.

Pearlescent White paint = £600
Vision Pack = £680 (Xenon headlamps, directional headlamps, self levelling headlamps & tyre pressure sensors)
Peugeot Connect Media Navigation (NG4 3D) - £1470
Door mirror covers – Black = £60

Do you get acknowledgment ? They are always willing to take the cash and will only start when you make a claim. Which in all probability wont happen.The online stuff is worth the watching as its either yes or no and i find its not always as clear cut as that im afraid.I am getting wary of online quotes these days.

They usually simply confirm that a note of the extras are on file and that the underwriters have confirmed acceptance. My list has never once caused a raise in premiums. It was simply one insurance company seeing an opportunity to make more money whilst they had my bits in their hands. I will never get into that position ever again. Tell them whilst their trying to get your business and it's amazing how common sense can prevail, wait until your in a claim situation and it's quite a different story
