Sometimes Rob1 you have to re-program the window to do what it's meant, ie. tell it where the end and stop are...

Have you done, this?

I had to do this when I changed battery and the window was going any where it wanted.

There is a guide on here some where but you will have to search for it. This is especially true if you've reset the BSI cos now it doesn't know what to do.

Good Luck.

You can do it very easily

Just close it and keep holding the button for a few seconds
Do this again When you open it

It's not the anti pinch is it?

The anti pinch feature is a safety measure designed to protect the cars occupants & the cars windows.

When the window reaches an obstruction, it can cause bodily harm or the window can shatter if the obstruction is hard. To add a safety device to the express-up feature, car makers use an anti-pinch device. The window motor has a pressure sensor that detects window motor movement when the glass has stopped moving, even minutely. If this occurs, the window reverses direction and moves downward.

If your car is sensing some kind of obstruction, or if a faulty sensor/motor is giving false readings, this could be one explanation for you issue.

You could check that there is nothing physically causing the window to think it needs to reverse & re-open. Is the seal round the top of the door opening seated correctly? Does the window behave correctly if the door is open ?

Maybe nothing to do with this, but just another thing to check for the possible cause. :eusa-think:

I found this on a generic website, not Peugeot specific:-

The anti-pinch feature is controlled by a small module which is now often integrated into the power window switches on the driver’s door. If the vehicle loses battery power or the power windows require a repair, the power windows will not know their upper and lower limits. The window motor will need to be re-trained so it can learn the window travel limits.

Basically, if your window motor is still trying to push the window closed when it has already reached it’s closed position the anti pinch sensor might think there is something stopping the window and re-open the window.

I had an issue with one of my 407s. It decided one day it didn't fancy shutting the driver's side front window correctly (the same one that broke it's own window regulator on the rear for no reason)
So after swearing at it whilst getting wet driving to work I assumed it wanted a BSI reset.

No.

Ok. So next I got a cloth and some white spirits, cleaned all the window edge and seal channel I could. Then a clean piece of cloth and a couple of squirts of WD40 and ran that around the seal.

Then held the window switch up to close the window till it clicked. Then tried auto.. voilà fixed.

Hmmm, sounds like bigger problems than the sort at home type. Maybe it’s time to bite the bullet & let a dealership have a poke about for a bit.

Or let an independent specialist Peugeot/Citroen have a look.

Would be far cheaper than the dealerships.
