With the Asphalt colour scheme. You'll either love it or hate it.

Hi all,

I'd be really interested to hear your feedback on the RCZ Asphalt. We don't have a huge amount of official information on it other than it is based on a GT 200bhp and has matt black paint, bespoke leather trim and will be limited volume across Europe - approx 500 (tbc).

When I get some more official info, I'll post it on the forum.

Thanks

Very nice. And my 22 year old son says it looks amazing with the matt black paint. He loves his cars, so that's high praise indeed!!

Not sure about matt black - think I'd need to see it in the flesh

I am involved in the car paint world and I cannot advise people strongly enough to stay away from the latest fad of matt finished cars.
1.It is very difficult to carry out any kind of smart repair on, usually meaning entire panels have to be painted.
2.It is not possible to even polish out light scratches, as the effect of polishing the matt clear coat actually reverts it to a gloss clear coat so again even simple scratches that could otherwise be polished out result in a panel having to be painted.

Does nothing for me I'm afraid.

After looking at all the great looking cars on here in the standard colours I think the matt looks, well, just awful.
Sorry!

I was over at Mercedes in Stuttgart this week and saw a matt silver amg c class

It looked awful, looked old & tired, guy said it was very hard to clean.

The new Ford RS500 that is matt black is actually a painted car that is wrapped in matt black.

Not for me.

Thanks for the feedback all. Personnally, when i saw the car back in June (at a group product seminar) I really liked it, but it's really useful to have a wider perspective on things.

Kind regards
